Boss would like for me to attend a conference or two that has workshops to educate myself. I know nothing about these.
I make web apps. I code in PHP (on its own or using the CodeIgniter framework), Ruby on Rails, and occasionally Perl.
Know of any decent and/or good conferences I should look into attending?
Your profile says you're in Washington, so you may be interested in CodeWorks on Nov 9 in Seattle. http://codeworks.phparch.com/locations/seattle/ No workshops, but now that I think about it, those seem to be slowly disappearing from dev conferences (not that I've attended many).
If Boss is serious enough, there are the Pragmatic Studio courses to look at for Rails and Ruby education (primarily). http://pragmaticstudio.com/
Might also be worth looking into Boss-sponsored open source development (existing projects with code and peers you can learn from) and user group attendance (if available near you).

Otherwise, I know O'Reilly tends to include hands-on sessions in their conferences. http://conferences.oreillynet.com/

I currently have no peers to learn from Aside from the contractor we hired... which I've learned a lot from his time here
