Phreaks explanation for removing maledict is hilarious, you guys.
"We changed it because he had no direct damage, so it was weird to have this front-loaded damage amp be really useless since he had no innate front-loaded damage. Players felt like they were missing out on a potentially cool ability, so we decided to save it for someone who could make use of this mechanic. This way you don't feel bad for having DoT skills.
I'm sure we'll see the old version of the spell back some day on someone else."
So basically he's saying "Swain did so little damage that it was weird to have this skill that relied on you doing lots of damage quickly, like you were wasting your ability.. So we removed the spell! Moving on! *dusts hands*"
Is any champ currently OP?
UP sure. But I can't think of anyone OP at the moment.
Vlad is still pretty fucking dumb.
It's just his ult, though, and he would kind of suck without it.
Kog'Maw is really unfair.
They shouldn't have buffed him if they wanted a DPS champion. He would have been more interesting, less annoying, and most importantly, less static as a Mage carry.
What's fucked up is the world's best players don't understand how to build a team around kog'maw. You need to defend him in the exact opposite kind of ways they tried to. Slows from Nunu keep him safe, Kayle gives him enough time to kill an opposing carry, Vlad gives him enough extra damage to simply kill the opposing team before they can respond. But they built like....Just, completely wrong champions to assist him. If they wanted Kog'Maw, they should have taken Amumu that game. You just can't compromise when you bring a Kog, but it's about picking the right low-tier champions that bring a type of synergy your opponents won't expect. Under the right circumstances he's just ridiculously unfair.

I hope Valve's Dota-like comes out soon, it'll be cool to play a game with an actual design plan with real artists working behind it.

Lucas's Franklin Badge reflected the lightning back!
That's wasn't too bad. I don't like the way Karth's Q works, and his ult is sorta cheesy - but C+. Pain walls are nifty.
The first time I played Karthus was for the same reason. My client fucked up and I couldn't choose a champion. Went 15/0/8 and I haven't played him since.
Gone against enough Karthus to know he kinda sucks, though. Plus, early Majai's may have worked that game, but nobody good would allow me to get away with that.
It was an amazing fluke, though. His ult hit for over half of everyone's health. I was initiating with it.
His wall is really cool, though. I just wish you didn't have to bring Karthus on a team to have it.

Lucas's Franklin Badge reflected the lightning back!
i have changed my mind on swain, finally had a good game as him
i normally kill the enemy mid because 2 second roots + a slow + a % damage increasing dot + ignite are THE BUSINESS, but then i feel like i peter out... but this time i actually started ganking!
2 second roots are the business for ganking squishies in the sidelanes
I think Karthus's explosion dot is pretty fun. It works differently than other spells in the game, and when you get used to it it can be entertaining. Great for last hitting, particularly with his mana regen-on-kill mechanic. A trick I like to do is to hide the dot under a minion near the enemy champ so they can't see it. I do find that ability hard to use in teamfights because it's hard to tell if you've successfully placed it and sometimes I get so focused on that that I lose track of where my guy is.
Swain is pretty Urgot level suck for me in 2 games. Urgot soured me on the game pretty bad for a while, this guys not helping. If the next champion isn't some sort of melee based guy I am going to be rather annoyed.
I've never really felt annoyed by an enemy team having a Vlad. Maybe it's just me playing him so much I know his weaknesses and timing.
Healing reduction and a good snare/stun will f' him up hard in a teamfights. He's also weak to harassment pre lvl7 or so.
That is a lie. His transfusion does not take that long to ramp up. 5 or so at the latest and then he is unharassable and will also start regenning to full after any minor skirmishes.
Vlad can technically still be harassed at level 5, but a good chunk of characters who are capable of harassing him are also very vulnerable to the fact that his Q takes out big hearty pieces of their lifebar at that point.
You guys and your epeens. Cower at mine! (ignore the summoner level plz)
JK. Twitch is a great champion because he functions well as a ranged champion even if he doesn't have stealth, namely the absurd piercing ranged ult, CC AND damage abilities.
The typical twitch experience climbing the rankings would be like
1) OMG I am so imba, coming out of stealth infront of my opponents and killing people everywhere
2) OMG I am so weak, oracles kill me all the time, I get focused to death so fast
3) OMG My range is uber and I can kite people while my team tank for me or proceed to kill off everyone trying to kill me
3) would come naturally once you get a competent team that knows how to protect you and when you know where to position yourself in team fights.
EDIT: Before Ez and Kog'maw, there was Twitch/Kayle combo ripping teams apart since 2009
So why the hell is the new guy called "The Master Tactician". All he does is shoot freaking crows at people. He should be called The Raven Lord or The Crowmancer or something relevant to his attacks.
Vlad can technically still be harassed at level 5, but a good chunk of characters who are capable of harassing him are also very vulnerable to the fact that his Q takes out big hearty pieces of their lifebar at that point.
I wonder if it's a sign of the state in which they tend to release new champions that I always stop playing the game for a day or two after a new one comes out. I just feel nauseous about the idea of having to deal with some new jackass.
They had like 1 assist and 0 kills between the 4 of them when I hit 9 / 2, and then I was all like, "what the fuck is your major malfunction?" which encouraged them to do better.
The day I meet a Vlad as good as me, well, I don't think that day will come.

The day I meet a Vlad as good as me, well, I don't think that day will come.
we also had a vlad who talked like this in one of my losing games
He did indeed have virtually all of the kills on the team and fewer deaths than any of us, while we had not nearly as many assists shared across us as his kills
what actually happened was he would sit on his ass while we engaged and lost a 4v5, then swoop in upon one or two wounded enemies and kill them usually after the assist period for the rest of us had ended, leaving our team 2 kills to their 4 and us with few or no assists. This happened over and over and he just got more and more smug and superior as the game went on.
we lost, of course, with the requisite "my team sucks" bullshit erupting in a brown fountain from his talk-hole, when we would have won with no problems if he hadn't been so concerned about his own appearance
my lack of judgemental speak is not an attempt to be subtly insulting, but rather an acknowledgement that I don't know the actual events of your game. mostly I'm just silently smoldering at idiots like that guy, and indirectly cajoling you not to be him
So I read the LoL forums about "swaingate". I thought something didn't add up when I was playing him. And DAMN are people qq'ing about it. Best part of the thread is "you've been swaindled"
Caenem on
But you, pig, are a lucky one. Tell us what we wish to know, and you may yet keep your bacon.

That was a full premade, and they are normally good players, that was just a rough game for everyone but me, so my pep speech was infused with love.

** This seems to be the theme in my character choices. All my favorite characters can win 1v2s on a regular basis if you have a solid game. Vlad, Annie, Warwick, I wish you were real so I could hug you tenderly.
Nicely done. Cannot fucking believe you got 5 kills without boots.
I hate that Vlad's items, by the way.

Sooo I got bored and posted a champion idea in the Champion Suggestion forums. Reposted here. Bask in my geekery.
Hi! This is my first champion idea, inspired by a certain TV series I've been a fan of for a long time. Sieglinde is another female Yordle champ! She's supposed to be an interesting mix of ranged, support, and tankyness all rolled into one devastating package.
-Beef up her AD, and she becomes a capable ranged fighter who can support others with a quick defensive boost.
-Focus on AP, and you get a more defensively focused champion with a nearly impenetrable shield.
-Her Q and W are mutually exclusive. Activate one, the other stops functioning.
-This is her first revision. Feedback would be appreciated.
Name: Sieglinde, Techmaturgical Psychic Defender
Attributes: Ranged, Tank, Support, Slow, Shield
Health: High Attack: Medium Spells: Low Difficulty: Medium
Lore
Sieglinde grew up in Bandle City like most Yordles. Feeling a strong sense of pride in her homeland and a strong desire to protect it, she enlisted into Bandle's military, quickly finding her way into the ranks of the Megling Commandos. Unlike her peers, however, Linde exhibited a unique ability in the form of psychic potential. She was always one step ahead of danger and made her foes pay dearly for any foolhardy attempt to take her down. One day, she happened to catch the eye of a visiting team of scientists from Piltover, including the famous Heimerdinger. Heimerdinger saw endless possibilities with Linde's powers, recruiting her with Bandle's blessings. Months of experiments, tinkering, and live tests resulted in the PX3 Sentinel System, a techmaturgical arsenal designed to augment her natural gifts. She now uses these to fight in the name of establishing an ever-lasting peace in the League!
"Sentinel, don't let me down. Let's engage!" - Sieglinde
Appearance
- Wearing gold armor covered in techmaturgical odds and ends.
- Wields a techmaturgical beam gun.
- Techmaturgical Mind Drones are carried on her back. They deploy when Q or W are used.
- Blue skin, white hair like all Yordle females, apparently. Somewhere in between Tristana and Poppy's ages.
- Wears goggles over her eyes. Hair tied back in a ponytail.
Stats:
To be determined. I need to look at other examples to get a good idea on where to start. Help?
Abilities:
Psychic Focus (Passive): 1% of Linde's HP is converted into AD. 1% of Linde's Mana is converted into AP.
Explanation: Linde's mind and body are as sharp as a razor. Channeling her psychic powers through them, she performs to the utmost of her natural potential.
T.M.D. Assault (Q): Summons 1-2 Techmaturgical drones to assist Linde in combat for a limited time. They can seek out specific enemies.
Mana Cost: 70/90/110/130/150
Cooldown: 30/26/22/18/14 seconds
Duration: 6 seconds.
Range: Drones return if leaving 660 radius.
Damage: 40/49/58/67/76 (+.5 AD) magic damage. Half damage to towers. 2 drones at level 3 and higher.
Explanation: These drones, by default, fly around Linde and attack the first enemy you click on. They can be sent after specific targets the same way Mordekaier's pet can (Alt+Click), though they will return if chasing from beyond a set radius of 660. Can press Q again to cancel. Due to her mental link, they will be blinded if she's blinded, stunned if she's stunned.
Appearance: The drones on Linde's back glow and fly off her back, taking position next to her until a target is found, to which they fly after and start attacking. They fly back and stow themselves away when the duration is over.
T.M.D. Defense (W): Techmaturgical drones form a defensive shield over Linde or a friendly champion, reducing damage received. While the shield is active, enemies near Linde suffer reduced attack speed. The Shield is half effective on allies.
Explanation: Linde can't use her Q or W at the same time. This shield is pretty durable, and encourages enemy players to go for her because of its Frozen Heart-like effect. Note that Linde is the origin for the slowdown effect.
Appearance: The drones engage and fly over to the chosen target, glowing green and forming a lattice shield much like Udyr and Fortify's. They return to the user when finished.
Frosted Saturation Bomb (E): Linde launches a bomb that damages and chills enemies in an area.
Explanation: As a tank/support Champion, Linde uses the FSB as her crowd control spell.
Appearance: Linde raises her weapon and launches an icy bomb at the target location. It explodes with a flash a puff of icy smoke, chilling anyone it hits.
Psychic Overdrive (Ultimate): Linde unleashes her latent psychic potential, dodging attacks with ease and finding critical weaknesses in her enemies' defenses! With great effort, she can extend her enhanced intuition to nearby allies.
Passive- Increases dodge chance by (10/15/20%). Crit chance increased per attack dodged (5% per stack. 4/6/8 stacks) for 10/15/20 seconds.
Active- Linde immediately applies her dodge chance and current number of stacks to all nearby allies within range. Lasts 8 seconds.
Mana Cost: 140 Mana
Cooldown: 100 seconds
Effect radius: 700
Movement/Attacking "Rodger!" "Engaging!" "On my way!" "I knew you were going to send me there!" "Gone before you told me!" "Please hit!" "I see him/her!" "He/She didn't see me coming!" "Right there!" "I sense a strong presence!"
Taunt "My mind is three times faster!"
Joke "This suit does everything! Well, almost everything. I wish it made me taller."

Compare that to... tango evelynn.
I literally cannot believe the person who painted that is a professional

I swear to god Swain was hitting Shen MUCH harder than he was hitting me and I don't know why.

I'd have to call it a night after that. You can't really top that.
At 7 he's basically unharassable.
First Twitch game ever if anyone cares.
Turned out to be a rage surrender at 25 after S&P did terrible things.
