So far, I think I'm liking this better than Atlantis.
Bunch of people working on a remote planet trying to solve the secret of the 9th chevron. They bring in a kid who solved the problem disguised in an MMO. They get attacked, have to leave the planet, dial the 9-chevron address, and get stuck on a ship out in deep space.
It's an Ancient ship called the Destiny. It is traveling in a distant galaxy on a pre-set course, dropping out of FTL here and there near planets with Stargates one them.
But they can't control the ship at all and they have almost no supplies, so every time they drop out of FTL near a planet, they have to check it out to see if they can get food, water, etc.
It's a much grittier show than SG1 or Atlantis, with power struggles, love triangles, death, etc.
At the end of season 1, the Lucian Alliance managed to invade and take over the ship. Season 2 starts from there and just started a couple weeks ago. It's already pretty good, with potential to get super awesome.
Left to right:
Sgt. Greer - Badass dude, one of the best characters on the show. Good guy at heart, but will fuck you up if you get in his face.
Camille Wray - Snooty IOA bitch. Like most IOA people, tries to run the show and seize power.
Col. Young - The military dude in charge. Has his faults and makes tough choices. Can be a stone cold motherfucker when he needs to be.
Chloe Armstrong - Daughter of a senator (played by Shooter McGavin), caught up in all this. Wrong place, wrong time, etc. Previews indicate some weird stuff may be happening to her.
Dr. Rush - Super smart jerkwad and a driving force of the show. Generally has the best intentions, but more on a "bigger picture" kind of scale. Does not get along with Col. Young much at all.
Lt. Scott - Young military leader that tends to handle away missions. Good guy, but in over his head. Totally banging Chloe
TJ - The doctor. Actually, more of a field medic. Also in over her head. Has history with Col. Young. Sexy history.
Eli - Also super smart, but not a jerkwad. A highlight character of the show. Got dragged into the whole thing Last Starfighter style. Totally wishes he was banging Chloe.
Col. Telford - Dude with not-sexy history with Col. Young. Were buddies at some point, now they don't like each other. The we find out he was a traitor, but was brainwashed into it so maybe not any more? Time will tell.

Exactly why I said Young can be a stone cold mofo if he needs to be.

Also the acting is pretty dec-oh wait what. What was I saying? Lieutenant James walked by in a tanktop, I got distracted.
