As the title says I fell in the shower. Dumb I know. In the process i messed up my arm pretty good. I can use it from the elbow down no problem however I can't raise it above my head on my own. If I use my other arm and grab it I can raise it up and hold it straight in the air I've got pretty good movement I just can't get it above my head on it's own. My shoulder also feels fine, I could shoulder check someone if I wished.
I really don't want to go to the doctor. It's been this way for 3 days now.

As your internet lawyer, I advise you, as my client, to go see a Doctor....
I know. Not what you want to hear, but you should probably get it checked out.
I recently hurt my knee, and asked the same question. I finally went to the Doctor and found out that I had a complete ACL tear and I might need surgery. My other option was to let it heal itself, and then have a "bad knee" for the rest of my life. You don't want to mess with your joints.
Best of luck with the shoulder.

Go see a doctor. Is it too painful to raise above your head? Or you just can't do it? Sounds like it may be a separated shoulder or a rotator cuff injury.
Nobody can tell you what your injury is or whether or not it has serious longterm consequences, because we aren't doctors (and even if we were, we couldn't examine you.)
There are a lot of things that can happen to a shoulder that restrict range of motion. That there is no pain and that you have (apparently) full assisted motion are good signs, but there's no way to know what the answer is without being examined.

that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
My wife screwed up her rotator cuff over a year ago. You're lucky you're not in any pain. This sort of thing has to have some attention, or you can end up losing full range of motion in your arm and never being able to lift it normally again. Like, ever, even after it "heals". If your doctor/specialist gives you some exercises and such, do them religiously.
Good luck buddy, my Rotator Cuff is messed up from a long untreated injury and needs replacing... It's constantly in pain and tends to dislocate randomly. I can't lift much weight with my right arm and chances are I never will (so saith my doctor). Go, go, gooooo to the doctor before you end up as the same boat as me.

You're not as young as you used to be.
