WEP - How do I use it?

For some reason, lately it seems someone is attempting to use my wireless connection. Mac Filtering.. seems to keep them out, but them just trying to access it kills my connection.

I only have WEP protection, but I have no idea how to use it.

I only have 3 things to connect - Wii, DS, and one computer.

Telling us your router's brand and model would be a good start.

    Clicky clicky

It's a PDF file showing how to secure your router. On pages 3-5 it shows how to enable WEP for your router.

However, keep an eye on your speeds. According to this link, enabling WEP on your router can kill your throughput by as much as 50%. With firmware upgrades and newer versions, it might not be as bad now, but it's worth keeping an eye on.

The manual doesn't provide images of the screen in question, but under the Setup tab of the router's interface there is a section for WEP, which should be set to mandatory. Then you need to press "WEP Key Settings" which will open a window that lets you specify the key. You can use a passphrase to generate the keys, which you should write down. Once that is done you can click apply and configure the PC/DS/Wii. You'll need to configure the DS/Wii WiFi settings again, and they should see that WEP is enabled and prompt you for a key (default is key #1).

It gives me a choice between 128 and 64-bit.

I think (think) I tried this before, but the code length wouldn't fit when I tried to input it on my other computer.

    So.. what should I do?

64 is the smaller of the two, so go with that.
