The mage set looks awesome! I'm jealous.
The priest gear...shoulda had lightwells for the shoulderpads and give the mages the water(with an offhand of biscuits)
Rogues...I'm so sorry. Better luck next time.
Shaman...do the shoulders give off little tesla arcs? If not they should.
Warlocks...you guys lost the coin toss with mages this time eh?
Warriors....been digging through the pally closet again? Although the second set looks nice(if you like the pots and pans look)
Death Knights....nice looking set. Death and skulls was so last expansion but I guess it never goes out of style really.
Hunters...Better. Still a touch of junkyard scrap to the armor but it's looking very shiny. Almost kingly in it's splendor.
The paladin set looks like they've been digging through the druid closet for inspiration. All it needs are wings and a mace and they can start calling themselves Hawkman.
Apparently they've now confirmed that if you don't have a 310% by now, you're boned and have to pay 4-5k for it if you want to go vroom. Also that they'll be fixing the warlock pet names and later implementing a way for warlocks to cycle pet names some how.
As a side note, what is causing the ridiculous mage dps and is it available at low levels? I'm attempting to power level my mage to 60 before 4.0.3 so I can get the polymorph: pig book before the quest goes away. Tonight at level 27 I was kicking ass in a dungeon (though not to the extent that I would pull aggro, that only happened if I got sloppy) and was wondering if I can expect to kick substantially less ass in the future.
Also, taking away my Conjure Food and Water until I get to level 30-whatever and gain access to the combined form sucks. Though it was pretty funny to explain to the dungeon group that I had absolutely zero buffs to provide (not even water for healer) since they're now all gone or not gained until a higher level.

Wow, I read those blue posts put up on MMO champ. They say none of these balancing issues came up internally or on ptr/beta. WHAT? Really, cause they were exactly the fucking same and just as bad. Actually, it was much worse when the PTR first came about, and they slowly tweaked things to help the same classes they stated needed help. Now they still need it.
Still I am surprised and almost cautious that Elemental Shaman wasn't listed in there. While its not mage level, I feel like I am well above average and gained 20-30% dps from this patch.

GC was talking about the lack of Armor on certain trinkets when he was saying it worked on their internal servers but didn't on live servers.
Exactly what volume do people have their speakers set at where the launcher 'bomf' is making them 'jump out of their seat'? Seems pretty normal to me - nowhere near as annoying as the login screen dragon.

I posted this question in Help/Advice but realized this thread might be a better home for it.
I usually have around 20 to 30 mods installed for World of Warcraft, so obviously manually downloading and extracting each addon update is rather tiresome. The Curse.com Addon client will take care of this by itself, but I've read reports that this opens up more security risks.
My question is, will having an authenticator bypass the inherent risks in using Curse.com's client? I already have an authenticator by the way.
I have a feeling the majority of answers will be, "No, stay the hell away from it," but I'd like to read everybody's experience with whole deal.
I use curse with an authenticator and haven't had an issue. I used curse before I had an authenticator and didn't have an issue.

I've been using curse for about 6-8 months now w/o an authenticator and have no issue with it. On that note, Blizzard needs to start shipping authenticators to APO, AP addresses.

I've heard that sometimes the ads that are displayed in the curse client can be infected with malware. I don't know if that's true or not. An authenticator should keep you safe but it's a possible risk.
I went from around 4.5k damage on my BM hunter to like 3k after I dropped Violation for Recount. (Actually 1.8k and 1.2k from the pet, but for some reason it isn't combining the two even though I tell it to.)

Awhile back this was a big issue on their website as an ad they displayed was loaded with malware. After the ENORMOUS blowout from that, I would hope that Curse would pay a little more attention to what they advertise. That said, I haven't even noticed any ads in the curse client other than the "Upgrade to Curse pro for more simultaneous downloads." I could just be absentminded. In any case, assuming you already have an authenticator, a keylogger isn't going to be able to bypass that.

Curse has had several instances of malware ads over the years. That they get hit with a flash vulnerability doesn't make them any worse than a lot of websites, but as you can imagine it's a target-rich environment for people looking to hack WoW accounts.
I don't know if there are any particular security vulnerabilities with the curse client, but back in the day when I tried to use it, it was a piece of junk. It wouldn't find new updates, and sometimes it would download an older version of an addon I had installed manually.
If you want an addon manage application, give wowmatrix a try. I don't use it anymore but it seems to have a pretty solid track record.

Thank you for suggesting wowmatrix. It's a lot lighter weight and I don't have to go in and fiddle with settings so that it doesn't run all the time. Just a simple .exe to check my gigantic list of addons.

The other event is in Stormwind. Big gathering of leaders, it's actually rather neato. Hit up the throne room in Stormwind to see.

Has anyone figured out a schedule to see these yet? I've been sitting in thralls chair for about 20 minutes now and nothing.
EDIT: I mean, since the patch Garrosh, Vol'jin and Eitrigg have just been standing there, as far as I can tell.
I was in IF earlier and Magni was still there at the time.
Yeah, the main issue with the Curse Client is that they have Flash ads. Even if you've painstakingly locked down your browser of choice, it won't matter one bit when you run the Curse Client and pick up a keylogger from a 0 day flash exploit. If they just made some sort of ad display system instead of just showing flash ads using IE then it'd be way more secure.
A lot of mod authors have told WoW Matrix to fuck off and are not included. Curse is shittier, but has better coverage.
I wonder why they don't like WoWMatrix. Hm. Either way, it cuts down my 30 mods or so to 5 instead, and I don't have to deal with ze wonderful flash ads. I was sitting here browsing addons with the damn thing open on my other monitor and it started playing video in its ad. With sound. Yeah, that made me want to kill it real quick.

Something about the WoWMatrix guys stealing bandwith from Curse and another site when they first started out.
back in the day wowmatrix was deeplinking to sites like curse without their permission, or something, and downloading addons from there; basically using curse's bandwidth to compete against their own product
which sucks a little bit but I block all of curse's advertisements anyway, so I have a hard time feeling bad about it

So I am going to say it: When is Blizz making it possible to have Triple spec? We already have the ability to dual spec. How long before they bite the bullet and lets us switch between all 3 talent trees at will? Especially now since they have made them more "focused".

I read something about it in a mod description.
Yeah, that's the gist of it. They were providing direct links to addons hosted on other sites, bypassing all advertising while not contributing any sort of compensation to those sites. When Curse and WoW-Interface asked them to stop, they were almost literally greeted with "fuck you, we're doing it anyway." When the addon sites tried to block WoWMatrix's downloader, its developers found workarounds and then bragged about doing so.
ZAM (Wowhead, Tankspot, wowinterface) has a new updater. I haven't used it, since I subscribe to curse premium and actually like the updater, but maybe try that out? It's called MMO Minion.
A dozen or so pages ago people were talking about the new tree of life, however:
Messing with player models is always risky and we know the current Tree of Life model is one of those things that is either loved or hated. That is why, as promised, we are offering a minor glyph if you just prefer the older, treant-based, version of ToL.
Oh that blizzard, they think of everything
also, i'm hearing you have to relearn all the inscription glyphs? To what degree is this true?
So I am going to say it: When is Blizz making it possible to have Triple spec? We already have the ability to dual spec. How long before they bite the bullet and lets us switch between all 3 talent trees at will? Especially now since they have made them more "focused".
I've always seen the dual spec as having the ability to not be forced to respec to PvP.
But, I also believe that you should have 1 Main and 1 Alt; I don't see how people think they can gear 4-5 characters.

Of course, the key logger could pick up the username and password for something else important, like your bank account, or e-mail.
And saying, oh, I have an authenticator, who cares who has my WoW username and password, assumes that you're not making a mistake that lots of people make: using the same username and password for other accounts as well.
So uh I may have prejudged paladin threat just a bit. When I get in the zone and manage my holy power like a champ, I got up around 17k-20k tps. Though when I fumbled or some jerk pulled off me that plummeted to about 7k tps.
