Having quit WoW a little after C'Thun was first downed, and then returning for a little bit in The Outlands, is there anything that I should be excitied about Cataclysm? I use to be in a hardcore raiding guild (first Nefarion kill in the US) and I really enjoyed that aspect of the game, it was challenging, required you to think and plan and be creative, few games do this on that level. Anyways I am a lot busier now and do not have time for a raiding guild like that, is there anything I should be interested with in this game? I will try out a trial if one is available but I am just curious what is new.
I know I could sift through the billions of videos (I have a bit) but I would like to hear this perspective.

To turn off the launcher's sound (even after I unchecked mine it continued to launch for a week or two, it has since stopped) first pull up the launcher then before hitting play:
This will mute the launcher application only and your system saves that volume setting for every time it comes up, regardless of WoW's actual sound settings. This works on Vista/7

All of Azeroth is redone. The game has been retooled to be much, much friendlier to people like you (gooses with not much time) with things like the dungeon finder for instant instances and 10m raiding giving out the same loot in Cata. Even if you only hop on every so often it's very easy to get geared up enough to jump into a pug or two to check out some raids if you want or just have fun with new Azeroth and instances and lore.
PvP is also revamped (I know you loves some PvP) in that there is only one tier of PvP gear per Arena season which means you don't have to PvP nonstop and grind like crazy just to be on par with everyone else come Cata. Healing is toned down and fights will ostensibly last longer due to much larger health pools. There's lots of stuff to check out if you loved the game.
I can't find the blue post for this, exactly what PvP gear had the rating requirements removed with this patch? All Wrathful? Wrathful that requires an arena rating of 1800 or higher? Nothing and I'm on crack?
yeah, a lot of spells actually jump two ranks around level 58, now you're getting not only the original high 50s/60 rank but the level 60 raid rank as well.

So my brother and I have been leveling a Warrior/Priest pair through instances since 4.0.
And oh man, 58 is such an awesome level. All of my spells have suddenly skyrocketed in effectiveness.
