honestly, most talent builds should be a lot easier now. You have to invest 31 points in your primary tree, and it should be fairly obvious what the core talents are for whatever you want to do (and you don't have to skip much, anyway.)

Which just leaves you with 10 points (or five, currently) to kick around in the other two trees. Again, the stuff you want is normally fairly obvious.

Not that Shaman talent trees were ever easy to understand. Luckily, Blizzard has been working for five years to fix 'em.

Um, is there a way to go back to numbers-driven tooltips, or are Mr. Rodgers friendly helpful tooltips the wave of the future?

    Example:

Heal - "A less powerful Heal than Flash Heal, but doesn't use as much of your mana. Use it on yourself or on a friend."

There is. I think it's labeled 'beginner tooltips' on the bottom page of the interface options, but I'm not positive that is where it is found. But you can definitely turn the dumbed down tooltips off, 'cause I did it.

I'm actually kind of pissed about the gnomeregon/echo isle events being over. I resubbed an inactive account last night during server maintenance in order to do those quests before patch 4.0.3 (you know, the one that changes the landscape). The account I had active only had one guy on it, and I was in the process of leveling him to get those quests. I regret not doing those quests immediately once I reached level appropriate range.

I went out to do the echo isles quest yesterday before the servers went down, but when I first got out there someone else had just started it so couldn't turn it in to Zuljin on the island, and by the time it was over and done I only had about 45 minutes until server shutdown. Too bad those stupid events took fucking forever. I at least managed to get the Troll transformation item, but I never got the achievment or cloak, so that upsets me.

Ugghh, this pisses me off, considering I could have just powered through it in a second on my level 80 DK, but wanted to wait until 4.01 to do it on my new pally. It's exactly things like this, or not really knowing when the patch will hit to eliminate your emblems, that tick me off, because a little bit of notice is all most of us would need.

Isn't there a UI scaling slider in display/interface options(can't check at work)? Might have been reset.

I'm getting dangerously intrigued by this patch.

Installing now, haven't really resubbed, probably going to scope out the lag issues. Grab a scroll of ressurection from a friend.

Can you still do the Gnomeregan Liberation stuff still? I really wanted to do that and I think I'd love to do it with all the new shit.

What is the chance of a random guy like me killing Arthas? I really would like to do it at least once before Cataclysm but everyone I played with fell apart around when ICC came out. It was quite disappointing. Are 10 man pub groups running him now?

Not reliably, at least not on my server. Every once in a while you'll see a pug that claims they're going 12/12 or doing an LK cleanup or whatever, but who knows how often even those succeed.

I would think your best bet would be to find a guild that runs a partially static gdkp raid or similar and go with them. At least then you know they have some consistency.

ed: although, who knows what 4.0 will do to raiding, so

    Things I noticed:

*My main now has Master Riding, so all flying mounts move at 310% and all ground mounts moved at 100%. Yes, all of them, even the old ones. The only way for me to check this (since Riding doesn't show up in the Profession pane) was to go to a Riding trainer and tell them to display the skills I had already learned.
*Poisons no longer have ranks. They do, however, have level requirements. The ones in my bag are level 79. The ones on all the vendors require level 10. This is a problem.
*I can't see my lockpicking skill anywhere, but can still pick locks.
*My DK's Runeforging instantly went from a skill of 1/1 to 300/300 when I activated Blood Presence. I have no idea why (also, every rune in the runeforging panel has an orange 300 with an arrow next to it).
*All the warlocks in my guild had the names of some or all of their pets reset.
*You can now sort your guild list by achievement score, or professions (including the ability to pull up lists and see who in the guild can make each recipe!).
*Press 'B' now seems to have the effect of pressing Shift+B in that it opens all your bags instead of just the first one.
*I can't seem to get name plates to appear at all over mobs heads anymore.
*The game looks and runs much nicer even though my desktop is horribly outdated and by all rights should have been exploded by the addition of the liquid effects, shadows, and sunshafts.

I kinda wish, in a sick way, that heroics were harder. Tanking them is exactly what I thought it was going to be - a complete pain in the ass. Unfortunately, everyone outgears the stuff, so they can survive being wailed upon while I try and round up the mobs. Single-target threat is no problem, but trying to target a different mob for each of the DPS is kinda annoying and hard, so I end up holding none of them. Blood and Thunder talent is worthless, because there just isn't enough time to Rend anything. Mana Regen seems to be fine, and I'm kinda liking the new spells. I've noticed that they gave me a class change for free, because other than the totems, I could have sworn that my Shaman was really a Paladin....

Game's unplayable for me right now. If anyone loaded on my screen casts or attacks, the game freezes for a couple of seconds. Any alteration/removal of graphical settings does not resolve this, nor does the usual tech support routine.
