Someone else always gets to the driver seat before me, leaving me to hoof it or gun. I hate gunning becase I'm the type that likes complete control of where I'm aiming, and I can't see shit from the gunner seat. Same goes for the hornet: I'll gladly pilot and point you where you tell me to, but don't ask me to gun or it'll end poorly.
Are the turrets meant to be fired non-stop or am I supposed to burst them? When I fire on someone for longer than an entire AR mag's duration and their shields don't even pop, I feel like I'm doing something terribly wrong.

Turrets are meant to be full-auto but not to the point where they overheat.

The cone widens in a weird way. It's helpful (but not actually true) to think of it bending slightly outward like a trumpet cone - the further you are away, the less accurate you'll be, but it magnifies surprisingly quickly. The best and safest way of killing someone with a turret is to start working on their shields from close range and then to be driven away, so their shields have popped, you're a safe distance away before they realise what's going on, and you only need to hit with a few rounds to kill them. You shouldn't be bursting, as the turret takes a while to spin up, but you shouldn't be firing when there's nothing in your sights, either (whereas in halo 3 you could do this without adverse effect).
A good driver/gunner partnership is a constant struggle. As a driver, my priority is to stay alive - not kills and not efficiency of path. I'm not going to risk myself or my gunner for any kill - especially since as I'm escaping, the gunner can be getting kills and is still protected by the guard on the turret (although in Reach, this can be blown off). So while I'm whirling around like a madman trying to take an unpredictable path that shield me from fire, my gunner has to prioritise targets. I'll call stuff out but I need to trust him to shut down anti-vehicle threats. We also both need to be ready to bail when I say - if I notice a red laser marker or hear a charging plasma launcher without any cover, I'm getting out immediately.
Something also worth noting in objective games is that when carrying someone, you need to make sure you position yourself so they aren't exposed. We've won games before where they've been shooting at me, a full health driver, because I'm in the way of the guy with the flag who just got in and is low. If I'd wheeled around and gone straight for the cap point, though, he'd have dropped the flag and we spend another thirty seconds sorting it out.

Rocket Race is really not that fun when you get stuck without a partner. It becomes "Destination Moved: The Game".

Has anyone else had the problem where your mic yanked out and when you plug it back in the system refuses to see it as a working mic? And the only way to fix it is a full system restart?
Rally can suck a hairy asshole, that shit is no fun at all.
I enjoyed when we jumped off the mongooses (mongeese?) and started shooting each other.
Through my observations, I've noticed that when you're off the mongoose A) you're no longer invulnerable and 2) You suddenly deal no damage whatsoever. This is in addition to gamma) your foot speed also goes to shit and Quatro) you have a big red marker over your head.
Also, firefox says that Mongooses is the correct plural since mongeese isn't a word.
Well, Co-Op campaign is much less fun than I expected.
Yeah. I just had half an hour of team mates destroying our vehicles and ignoring the objective while stripping each others shields in an attempt to get them killed.
Not fun.

I like DMR starts on levels with decent cover and only a couple of long-range weapon; then you don't end up with one team snagging the rifles and then spend a bunch of time getting hit with headshots.
On open levels, I really, really don't like DMR starts. Invasion Slayer Boneyard gets pretty much wrecked if too many people decide to just go with needle rifle/DMR starts. The capture points stay uncaptured, so the game degrades into a big, boring rifle fest as the Elites sniper from their spawn and the Spartans shoot back from everywhere else.
Hell, I'd probably prefer for all the Invasion Slayer stuff to have nothing but AR starts. Yeah, there'd be some sniping, but that's a worthwhile tradeoff to keep the game from getting bogged down with a bunch of dull long-range fighting.

I refer back to Elliot's comment. It will be a lot more fun to go through with solid teammates.
First game: Nightfall. Booted two teammates, game wouldn't let us get past the initial assault on the canopy.
Second game: New Alexandria. Two teammates shot me and another guy dead off the spawn, then quit, last teammate was laggy and quit, I quit for lack of fun.
Third game: New Alexandria. Moron teammates wouldn't let me turn on the Marathon easter egg, so we had to fight our way through the Hunters. Then they got a squad of AIs killed because they completely flew past the Banshee waypoint to go kill some Brutes, which I had already taken down. Oh, and one of the geese completely refused to play, and just sat around at random points on the map, spawning people about a mile away from each objective.
Good games tonight, I was almost burnt out after cheesing the crap outta this game (I have no shame). It was fun to see how terrible we got the more drunk/screwing around we got XD

This is the story of my online gaming career, cept with every gun

It could be good, with some changing of weapons, spawn points, and more cover.
Cause that shit is driving me nuts
Seriously, it could be good if the spawn points were fixed. I might do that tomorrow.

Armor lawlck - What happens when you get cornered in the invasion cap point by someone with armor lock. I lawled heartily here
My biggest complaint with it is people spend the entire first round confused what's going on.
It was non stop "where do I go" "where's the bomb" "hey there's a wraith!!", repeat until time runs out.
And maybe it'd be a good idea to limit the number of DMRs and TAKE AWAY THE FUCKING SNIPER RIFLE.
You're playing co-op with the same random douchebags who you play other modes with

After playing it again I don't know how we managed to win that game on offense the first time.

So yeah, fun times.
That new Atom map is going to be sexytime.
Atom looks good, not sure about cliffhanger though. It just looks rushed to me.
Cause if they can make a good map on that plot of land I'll give them a cookie.
Both are on Asylum's platform.
I think I need to forge a new map for this contest because mine's on Asylum too.
