My daily challenge craving has dropped off sharply now that I'm at Lt. Colonel. Well, that, and the fact that Super Meat Boy spent most of the week destroying my will to live.
I refuse to do any challenges today. I'm protesting it for a few days until my brain resets and then I start craving it again.
According to the BWU there will be a challenge on Monday that is to link your gamertag to a Bnet profile and play a single matchmaking game.
...Can you at least do that one?
You don't even have to play a game. If you've previously played a game with a linked tag, it'll give you a free three thousand credits or just starting a search.

I've played three games each in Score Attack and Team Slayer now without getting that challenge, and I linked this tag to Bungie.net at the same time I made it.
Did Bungie release another one of those charts that shows what percentage of people are what rank? Because it seems like more and more people are Lt. Colonel now. I just played a matchmaking game where there was only one person who wasn't a Lt. Colonel.
it could be that your trueskill has risen to the level of your Lt. Colonel peers! or something.

Yea, it's not the same anymore. Even though the "cap" is completely bullshit (you still level, it just doesn't show it) the drive to do em is gone. It's just w/e. Even in playing I'm a lot more lax about what I do as far as commendations or just well, winning in general. Oddly enough, I've started playing a lot more Swat.
Hell, after having to play marathon session to get last week's challenge, I won't be saying "this weekly is a breeze" anymore. I mean, I know why I came close to not getting it (Fallout NV) but yea. It was close... had 700 kills coming into Sunday evening... but Sunday TV! This week's isn't as hard, I think.

ok I'm looking to grind out some challenges, I need to get out of WO3 its killing me to see that wee bar get just a tiny jump after completing a challenge, Best advice and tips if possible?

no problems here when I did the update at 11:30EST, but I imagine the problems are only going to get worse as more people start trying to download it
In halo news, I just had a game with a rollback host migration. The host dropped, and it droped us all back like 1-2 kills, and respawned all of us and all vehicles and weapons. So we went from having a 6 kill lead while our tank was alive and theirs + banshee were dead, to 2 kills ahead all vehicles alive. We still won, but that was fucking weird
I had a host migration during Invasion that started with giving me 3 people on my fireteam, then in phase 2 every player on my team was on my fireteam.

I've had this happen before too, and it actually resulted in a crazy fun game. Suddenly being able to spawn the entire team to a firefight made things nuts
edit: the meter doesn't seem to be updating in realtime. It jumped from 85% to 95% about 90 minutes ago and hasn't moved since.
The best was on Boardwalk, we were playing a a game of on flag. Just started a round of defense and go to grab the rockets, soon as I do its host migration. BAM new set of rockets, its nice having 8 rockets for defense :P
So, the new arena season started. I'm not very good at arena, but perhaps I am confused by something.
I thought you got ranked if you played 3 matches in the same playlist per day, for seven days out of the season. Or am I missing something? I was looking forward to seeing an Iron star on my bungie profile.
EDIT: Also, wheeee. Finally have all the Weapon and Style medals for Competitive. Now I just need to finish out laser sprees and assist sprees for firefight.

The only way I can see that happening is on Paradiso, big team battle. You get the laser, and hit double kills with each shot. That gives you 8 kills. Then, you wait around long enough (and without dying) to get the respawned laser, and then get 4 more double kills, giving you 16.
It's technically possible, just incredibly unlikely.
The only 'impossible' medals are the kill 10 / 15 humans as a zombie without dying.

yea, the situations required to get those medals make them not worth my while to pursue. If I somehow get them (the laser or zombie killing one) naturally, well... yay. but I don't see myself gunning for them. especially the zombie one. That game is just... awful, imo. Or it needs to be played on maps that can actually support it.
I can't seem to reach bungie's site atm either. meh.

No bullshit hiding spots, and you can actually go zombie hunting without instantly dying
I still think the game type is a little broken. Perhaps 4 rounds of teams. You have the zombies on one team (who respawn as zombies), and the humans on the other team (who respawn as humans). Trade teams every round.
Right now, if you get zombie duty, you have no fun at all. And if you spawn as a human, it's encouraging you to be as cheap as possible.
I wasn't getting the Linked challenge at first, but I gave myself a nameplate and that seemed to do the trick, got it when I next started searching. I'm guessing my gamertag name-change a ways back (well after I linked the tag) was what caused it to not work smoothly at first.
