How do you give yourself a nameplate?
In your Reach service record, hit Bungie Profile, then the Game Settings tab. Nameplates should be visible just under that.
I got the helmet nameplate because I am a long-time baller.
This challenge is bullshit, I've had my tag linked since forever, I've gotten every other challenge today and played a lot of games, I've been to bungie.net and changed my nameplate multiple times but it won't unlock.
So, the new arena season started. I'm not very good at arena, but perhaps I am confused by something.
I thought you got ranked if you played 3 matches in the same playlist per day, for seven days out of the season. Or am I missing something? I was looking forward to seeing an Iron star on my bungie profile.
EDIT: Also, wheeee. Finally have all the Weapon and Style medals for Competitive. Now I just need to finish out laser sprees and assist sprees for firefight.
Right now, you have to get a daily rating (3 games played) for 10 days in the season. Season 1 was only 7 days because it was a shortened season. Once you get your 10 days in, you immediately get a division (the star by your name). Once the season is over, you get a % that shows your rank within your division.

It finally worked!
I signed out of both my bungie.net account and 360 profile, then I signed back in to bungie.net, changed my nameplate to the blank one, signed in on my 360, played a game with Willeth and then a rumble pit match.
When I went into matchmaking again after that last game it finally popped.

Odds are high that whatever job they have running to detect you playing games and associating that game with a bungie.net profile finally got done processing 10 million other requests and got to you.
Man, I felt bad just now. Got matched into a Team Arena game, two dudes quit before the game even started. I basically apologized to the other guy, but told him I'm not sticking around for a 2 on 4 (where, at best, I can hope to still take a loss but not go negative K/D). Then I quit.
I figure I at least told him I was leaving and made the decision before either of us had to start getting our asses kicked...giving him a chance to back out too (taking the likely loss anyway) before getting killed.
Meh.
Really hate that it'll actually go into a match like that, though...before the level was even loaded it showed us as 2v4. You'd think it'd cancel the game and back out to lobby at that point.

From what I can tell, though, I didn't take a loss for it? That's odd, I thought quits were scored as losses.
So I just calculated the maximum credits someone could have if they hit the 60k credit cap everyday since launch. If you start counting on September 14, and include today (November 2nd), it would be possible to have exactly 3 million cR, exactly enough to be a field marshall, which is what comes after general grade 4. I wonder if anyone has actually done that.

Good games Tridus and Willeth, I loved that after all that shit talking that Bread dude did in Multi-Team he had 0 kills for about half of the next match.

Neither did mine, but if you goto the Challenges menu, it shows that the challenge was complete.

I think the challenges were intentionally made easier to lift the cap or w/e too.
But as far as the rewards, the Cr for the relative difficulty and time investment has always been all over the place though.
