Really going to try to take part this year. Maybe it will force me to be more social with all you strangers.

I've made a card for the Cookie Brigade, but I was going to make a personal card for my gaming club. Is #042 available? I doubted it, but it was worth a try. If not, I'll take an assigned number if you please. ^.^

#42 is the most popular number. :) Sadly, not available.

But I went ahead and assigned you #034. If you want a different number let me know!

There's a new MMT icon. Dave will be slapping it into the template tomorrow evening but until then you can use this and place it on the template.

If there is a 19 available sure, if not then don't worry about it until I have actually begun to work on this. ;-)

I rather figured it would be, LOL! Never hurts to ask though. 034 is fine. No other #s of significance come to mind. Thanks loads. I'm sure everybody appreciates the hard work!!

Has anybody laid their TC out as a horizontal card? I'm curious how you feel about the look? My gaming club will be in the form of a horizontal photo, and I'm waffling about reshooting or just rotating and adapting the template. Does anybody really care about non-vertically orientated Trading Cards? I know it's traditional, but does it really matter?

Someone did the horizontal thing last year. While the template is traditional you have the final say on how you want your card to look. I don't think Dave minds.

I know I am helping someone do some interesting things on the back of their card that are outside of what the template calls for.

In trading cards, it is not uncommon for group shots to be laid out in landscape format. When I was a kid I collected Topps baseball cards and Marvel comics trading cards, and both used that format for teams.

There is nothing keeping you from doing this. Unfortunately I don't have a landscape orientation template handy.

Oh yeah, that's the least of my worries. I'm a commercial artist/graphic designer. I can move around the template. I'd just not seen one in landscape before and thought it'd look "off." I've only ever seen more TC game based cards, and those are just about always in verticals that I've seen. Thanks for the input, all.

Oh man, I'd love to be a part of this! Is #310 available? If not, just assign me anything. :D I'll get to work on this right away!

Also, I think it'd be really cool to have a "cosplay" badge available. I don't know what it could be, but for those people that'll be dressing up for PAX (like me, haha), it'd be a nice badge to have.

    Anyways, #310 is now yours!

The masquerade mask is an awesome idea! I whipped something up--is this alright, or should I make it a bit bigger? It looks a tad on the small side when on the card itself:

I dunno, that's a great idea as well. Hmm...masquerade mask, or easily identifiable otaku trademark?

Alright, I scoured this from front to back like a good boy and didn't see any mention of it.

I used to collect Marvel cards and remember there being group backgrounds, making it more valuable to collect an entire set of nine cards: Le Link

I want to make a team set like so, problem is, I'm a n00b and will be going solo. Would anyone else want to join me? I'm willing to do the legwork and shop them all together, I just need people. I'm thinking a set of 4 or 9 people.

I'll work on a mock-up, but basically I'm thinking, some game or PA-related background, with action poses for all.

EDIT: I would also like to request #926

100x100 is the size Dave has the icons set at so your image should be good to go! I'm sure he'll be able to add it to the template whenever he has a free moment. Might want to make a post in the cosplay thread in case some people there would be interested in doing cards. Nice work. :)

Quick question: Is the checklist going to be a card (like the Marvel cards had), or is it just going to be something that we print out? I could put a card together if need be, using the template as a starting point. I think it would really complete the whole trading card vibe (without going into things like actually packaging them and so on).

Although I never ordered a card last year (silly goose I am ran out of time for ordering ) I think I did reserve a number. Rdr - any way you can assist with a confirm or deny? If I did reserve, I'd like to switch whatever it is to 919 (if available), and if I didn't reserve, can I please get 919? if 919 not available, second choice is 973.

thanks mucho, rdr! and to peasantdave for designing again!

Hrm... we do have a cosplay badge but somehow it didn't make it to the list in the OP, although it is in the current template. Here is what we've been using (it's pacman cosplaying as pikachu):

The checklist is going to be made available for print about a week before PAX. This is because I don't want to distribute a final list until we know who is actually taking part. Traditionally there is a burst of people joining in during the last possible minute, and I don't want to exclude them from the checklist. A google document that I can update and distribute easily is the most practical method.

New Team Set (Needs People! You There! Join!)
For most of you who have not read my earlier post, I'm looking for 3 or 8 more people to join me in making a set of cards, akin to the old Marvel group sets. See the mock-up below if you need a better idea.
    Current Members: Me

    Mock-Ups:
    Mock A, Mock B, Mock C.
Beware: These are very, very rough mock-ups, just done to show what I want to do, generally.

Aside from it not looking terrible, I figured possibly some form of Mock B, with the border slightly faded (the mock has everything faded because I'm too lazy to do that again). Furthermore, I'm considering the option of artifying people to somewhat match the background.

What I need right now is a few more people to join me, and quick!
If interested in joining the 'team', this is what I need: (PM or post in this thread)
Position Wanted for 4 or 9 people: (If we have a team of 4, there are the corners, if we have a team of 9, then we will have the center, middle-right, etc.)
Background Preferred: (Majority wins) Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Megaman, Ice Climbers, or Kirby.
    Your photo!
EDIT: In a full-body action pose! (Or at least 3/4 body if you want the bottom row)
Your info from the 1st post that you need on the card.

I will be putting everything together (so that there is consistency), so no need to worry about your PS skillz.
