Man, I bought these grapes, and they are huge.

Also, anyone have a link to the Funday Monday cast? I misplaced mine. Hoping to see someone at least manage something awesome with this week's rules (aside from us, of course, and we bent those rules).

I think they stop being good for scouting once half the land mass is covered by enemy vision.

So, is there a way to control individual units within a control group? I seem to remember someone mentioning this in one of the Day9 Dailies, but I may have been mistaken. Something with tab and CTRL clicking maybe. But I tried this and had no luck.

E.g., if I have a group of zealots, stalkers, and HT, but I want to send the stalkers and HT to point A and the zealots to point B.

If I could build reapers as Toss I'd use one every game. I think the same might be true for zerg. Terrans have a... unique relationship with the concept of reconnaissance. Because of their foolproof, on-demand scouting (yes, I know it's not without cost) and the relatively easier time they have preventing their opponents from learning their own tech choices (leading to a more proactive style in my experience), there's less demand for an early-game scouting unit.

I dunno, I think I'd rather have 1 muta than 2 reapers. Though reapers out of a nydus worm would be pretty boss.

So I just watched Boxer vs Happiness, and he does this cool micro trick where he takes all his vikings, and patrols them over one pixel, making them go all crazy (but also, clumping them all in one tight spot).
The reason I suspect for this is, as the enemy vikings come into range, ALL of Boxer's vikings will attack the enemy vikings, but only the enemy's front vikings will attack Boxer's vikings, and Boxer will retreat before the ones in the back get a chance to attack.

Yeah that's the idea and was amused Artosis was bagging him for it. I don't know how to do it, I think I'll go practice it while waiting for Day9 to start!

Yeah, but the reaper appears long before you can get a muta/phoenix. I often find that there's a window where my scouting worker has been killed or is parked at a tower and when I haven't yet produced an observer/phoenix in which I really don't have a clear idea of what my opponent is doing. This is when a reaper is really nice to have.

    Oh yeah.
The reaper does have early game uses. I just think it becomes useless after a certain point in the game.

I think if zerg had reapers they would have to nerf them even more because ling/reaper would be unbeatable.

Artosis bagged him for it because he did it with a raven and that accidentally caused him to drop a pdd.

To do it: 1) select your units, 2) shift-p to queue patrol, 3) click 2 very close spots and then your units will patrol between them. If they're flying units, you'll get the bunching behavior that boxer demonstrated.

Hm... I'm testing it on unit tester. It seems rather difficult to retreat them perfectly. Also, if you just continue the fight, even though your units got more attacks initially, the vikings waste time trying to unclump or something. Perhaps Artosis was right. Blech!!
You also end up all of your vikings firing on his first viking, which, depending on numbers, may cause massive and wasteful overkill on your part.

Played against a friend TvT, out expoed him so much. I took my third, and a gold at that, when he took his natural.

And I constantly produced units, and upgraded. Still he rolled right over me.

Will upload once I figure out how it works.

Only two things appeared to me on replay: I scanned more than usual, and he had a few siege tanks which I didn't.

how high were you floating minerals? Did you have enough production buildings?

I have a flavor of the month build for you.

    10 Supply
    12 Rax
    13 Gas
    15 OC
15 Marine (Continue to pump marines)
    16 Supply
    Factory @ 100 gas
Reactor on Barracks at next 50 gas
    Swap when done
Make 4-6 hellions for harass (This alone can win games against an unprepared zerg)
    27 Armory
Another factory when you can afford it, tech labbed.
    Start pumping thors.

This works fairly well against ling/muta. You can even set scvs to auto repair and follow your thors around for maximum dickery.

Not as strong against all roaches, but still somewhat effective.

I usually push around 4 Thors, with marine and hellion support.

Don't be afraid to switch to siege tank/Thor if he gets mass roaches.

Thats why the (rare) Terrans I play are massing Thors. Roaches shut that down quick since they can hit repairing SCVs without having to run around now
