Patch is really great thus far on the crafting side. We are gunna do a good old fashioned grind tonight which will give us a better idea about the crafting side.

So the patch seems to have broken my game. It won't launch. I put in my info and it immediately gives me an error message.

has anything else in your system changes since the last time you logged in(when was the last time you were able to log in)? (drivers, etc?)
It's been about a month and absolutely nothing has changed. After you mentioned that I tried updating my video card drivers but that doesn't seem to have helped either.
So is the update awesome or what? Haven't heard much chatter on here.
Personally it seems much better than it was. I dinged r18 Lancer the other day after being stuck at 16 for ages before the patch, and it feels much more like you're actually making progress when fighting/grinding thanks to the non-random SPs. It's amazing how much better the game feels when you can go "Oh, I just need x more Dodo's before the next rank!"
Of course, the two play sessions I had both ended with "Well, I really need a new lance, let's check the Market Wards!" followed by a string of expletives, dreaming of going on a killing rampage through the "Battlecraft" ward due to 90% of the retainers there not having a single weapon on them and rage quitting.
Haven't touched crafting since the change due to time constraints.
Yeah, it is pretty great actually getting a reasonable amount of skill points during a leve when I'm healing and buffing. It just feels right. Also, having an auto-sorting inventory is like a sweet, sweet digital luvins.
after 2 nights of grinding I have come to the conclusion that SE needs to change the SP system again. Spam killing Ants for 2 hours for 15K sp isnt fun or challenging. I hate to say this but i hope they just go back to FFXI system. With zero challange or threat of death grinds are kinda meh. I was so excited yesterday when I got my new hora, turns out i really didn't need it.

Yeah, There's no real sense of danger. I was in a island crab party last night, and on the side I was watching some World War II movie on TV. I wasn't exactly worried, As long as I spammed Heavy Strike with the occasional Feint I got through it pretty easily.
Just got done that and it still doesn't work. This sucks. I'm not really sure what to do from here.
UPDATE: I booted it in windowed mode and it worked. And then I switched back to full screen and for some reason it worked there too. I don't understand but it's working.
The big one - Skill points (class xp) are now given at the end of the fight based on the level of the monster killed. No more random xp!

Less xp needed to level to 20
More chances to get class marks
Greater diversity of monsters around camps - makes grinding easier
On and on and on...lots more stuff, but those were the biggies of the top of my head.
Also, as mentioned above, Inventory is now larger (100 spots) and Sortable, which is fantastic.
The +ACC is also a big deal. Speaking as a Lancer (or the Whiff Class), I can actually count on at least 1 out of 5 swings to actually connect with something.
I'd say if you're on the fence hop on for a round of Leves if you can. The changes are big enough that they're noticeable right off the bat.
I guess I don't understand the leves. I have to turn them in before I can get new ones? Also, new gear basically has to be made rather than found/bought?
You get 8 Guild Leves and 8 Local leves every 36 hours. When you complete guild leves, you can turn them in to the adventurers guild to get a new set of guild leves, with increased rewards. (Though this increase only affects Gil/Marks). This can't be done with local leves.
All gear, besides the very basics (Weathered gear), have to either be made by players, or bought from players. There are some Guild leves that hand out pieces of equipment, however, they're few and far between.
So, taking a look at the Lodestone (since I can't do much else while my PC's out of commission during this house-painting debacle I'm going through), it looks like we now have a new #1 BSM!
Everyone can officially pester Tyri as the top-ranked BSM in the LS (at least until I return, although I doubt I'll be able to catch him and reclaim my spot
Mob density seemed completely unchanged. We had sucess in Broken Water with a 5 man PT and great sucess with a 3 man in copperbell. Kills almost a fast with proper BR use.

Hehe that's saefal with his new eyepatch. My main motivation for goldsmith now is to move the story along. 4 slot cost +7 stat rings make them much less sexy.
