I generally found that my Blasters were more effective going for +1/+2 levels, but only 1-2 heroes/villains worth of enemies.

Smaller spawns of hard targets, basically. I've never really tried soloing with an AoE specced blaster, sounds like it could be painful without a ton of +def IO sets.

I can do the demon farm on my fire/en blaster at +1/8, my rad/fire blaster I can do +1/3 or 4.

I've never been able to get into controllers. Part of this I blame on just knowing some really, I don't know, elitist controller players, also just on that they aren't my style. The best hold is DEATH.

I have never played a controller. How are doms better? I know that the controls are better when dom is up.

Controllers are more of a control/buff/debuff deal, while dominators are control/damage. I prefer doms mainly cause I like to kill stuff while mezzing stuff. Oh and mez protection from domination is also another factor.

My problem with Doms is that despite having a lvl 50 pimped out Dom I never really played him, I regret AElvling him as I have no idea what I'm doing. My fire/kin troller though I played from 1 to 50 and while I gave him a terrible IO build I know how to play him.

The only purple set I have at the moment is a six slot of the confuse, which I bought for like 50 million total a while back.

But yeah, I softcapped s/l/energy (you can just do s/l if you're picky about what you farm) and go to town. I'm DP, so my nuke's up pretty frequently.

Hmm, Anyone know Storm Summoning well? I'm trying to figure out how to IO out Freezing Rain and I can't decide if I should just drop in a bunch of -Def via Touch of Lady Grey, of it I should turn it into a Proc Machine. Suggestions?

This right here. Increased damage used to be another perk, but that got rolled into the class modifiers. But the mag (9? at level 50) protection is what lets you take on pretty much anything and actually get off more than one shot before something turns around and hits you with a mez (malta lol)

The other part is the fact that controllers get a ~25% chance to add +1 mag and x2 duration to their controls, whereas domination (at least according to the detailed info) is 100% chance for x2 mag and x2 duration.

The fact there's no analogue to upping domination recharge (controller overpower chance being fixed) is kind of a bummer. Maybe it's something they can add in with incarnate abilities / enhancements?

Rob, you could put 3 damage procs: Lady Grey (negative), Impeded Swiftness (Smash), Shield Breaker (Lethal), plus Achilles Heal and still have room for two recharge IOs (down to 32 seconds). Ups the damage considerably.

If you want controls, Ragnarak (knockdown) or Pacing of the Turtle (slow) are available.

Personally, if you need the slots elsewhere the Achilles Heel by itself is fine (plus recharge). The rest are all for extra damage, so it depends on if you could use it (for a controller I'd say yes, for a Corr, not so much). KInda depends on what you need to round out your build and how many slots you have to devote.

It's for a Bots/Storm MM I have tons of slots to throw around, at this point I have 5 to spend that can go into Freezing Rain or Maneuvers. Unslotted the recharge is 37second, when Hasten is up (I took it because wtf not with all the /Storm powers) it's 26 seconds.

Could drop 3 procs into Freezing Rain and than slot Maneuvers with Luck:Rech, Def and Gift: Def, Def/End

I've never done storm before so I've mostly been working off of guides and other people's builds.

The mez protection component of domination is a huge boost. The only thing that stops my fire/rad from just constantly chewing through +1/x8s is that sometimes something will get a stun off and I'll get waxed before I can hit a break free (and even then I have to laboriously turn toggles back on, etc.)

Pretty excited to play with my dominator at 50. I need to get bids in on the rest of the stuff for his build.

I've never taken a stormy higher than mid 30s myself, but more AOE damage is never a bad thing, especially with all the AoE of bots and the damge pets of Storm. Can never have to omuch of a bad thing.

I'd choose some procs to diversify the damage a bit. Lady Grey and possibly Impeded Swiftness, plus Achilles Heel would be my choices. Since its up perma, every 10 seconds you have a chance to debuff everything around your rain puddle of doom. Sounds fun.

I'd love to try the KD proc, but I've heard its just not reliable enough to count on for extra soft control, so I say skip that one. Plus FR has its own KD proc, so whatever.

:nods: I'll probably drop a Positron for energy and a Lady Grey for negative with the Achilles as for the KD proc, I think it'd be funny but it's a purple and that means I will never see it drop and it's not cool enough to justify the price, thanks.

    My cheapo elec/wp build;
I probably need to swap out the accuracy on havoc and CI for a dmg. Also has nothing slotted for health once it becomes inherent, so the regen will go up a bit more.
Only have like half the set IO's still too.

I think I'm gonna make a whatever/Thorns/Ice Dom. Sleet, Thorntrops and Ice Storm? Why not.

I do like Sleet and Ice Storm, but I am still tempted by Fireball and Rain of Fire.

Some of those look pretty sweet. Also confirmed that they aren't tied to a character's origin just origin themed.

I do like some of them, and the idea that I can spend $15 and not have it tied to character origin is nice.
Hopefully it'll be something other than Capes and auras. Considering how close to game changing the temp powers are in the other sets, I'd really like another one.

Some of those auras are pretty sweet, but I don't know if I'd pay $15 for them.

    Stolen from the thread
A quick write up for those who can't see the trailer yet.

    Nature (aka "Natural")
    Autumnal Cape - Leaves
Leaves Aura - Leaves swirl around the character
Thunderhead Aura - The briefly seen Storm aura: Smoky with intermittent lightning flashes

    Science
Unified Field Facade Cape - Translucent glowing hex pattern
Atomic Aura - Swirling particles, ala electrons
Cryogenic Aura - A better looking Vaporous

    Technology
Impervium Mantle Cape - Solid reflective metal triangle pattern
Steamjets Aura - Random steamjets emit (ala the Self Destruct animation)
Sparks Aura - Random sparks from the character's body

    Magic
Cloak of the Eighth Circle Cape - Split-tailed, metallic patterned
Runes Aura - Runes swirl around character (runes from Demon summoning)
Tarot Cards Aura - Glowing "ether" and tarot cards swirl around character

    Mutant
Spliced Cape - Membranous fibers and translucent parts
Bio Plasma Aura - A more fiery Omega aura
Toxic Vapors Aura - Gaseous cloud emitted from body. Almost like the Pumicites' gas emissions.

and pictures here if you can get to the city of forum.

I'm hoping this is only $10, I don't know if I'd drop $15 on it.

Thanks Robziel, perfect. Can't see the pics, but I'm a whore for glitz, and the Runes Aura was just what I was wishing for on my DS/Pain MM. Thunderhead, Atomic, Tarot and Toxic Vapors also sound like win.

The spliced cape does actually look kind of cool, not sure why the person that made these pics didn't take a better one of it.

Thanks again Robziel, you rock! The tech and science capes look awesome, too. Definitely happy about the runes... I know I'll buy it, they have me by the short n' curlies. Damn them.

No problem, I know the frustration of the the firewall :)
Also these apparently unlock at lvl 1 with having to do any sort of cape or aura mission so that's awesome.

    A metal-y looking cape...I'm in.

And +1 to more costume change emotes!

What packs have come after the Magic one? I know the one with the ninja run, but is there anything else?

There's been a lot of these things, especially if you count the wedding pack or GvE pack. There's a full list of all the packs here.
