Obviously looking at changing out for purples when I come across them but is recharge a big deal for a brute? The One with the Shield power can't be enhanced to reduce it's recharge rate.
The only other power that I see is Active Defense.

Anything else I am missing? Different epic power pool maybe?

How about maxi-plus-plus recharge for Shield Charge? Having big attacks, buildup and AoE up more often isn't going to hurt, either.

so, uh, I just got shockwave on my claws/wp brute... does it suck really bad or is it just me?

I've got a pretty good attack chain with strike/slash/follow up/focus/spin, and shockwave only serves to knock people out of RTTC

trouble is, eviscerate doesn't have much of a place either... but I could at least use it as an opener, put a knockdown proc in there maybe.

    thoughts?

Shockwave works great for some builds, not so great for others. Willpower is one of the ones it's not so great for, as is Invulnerability. It's pretty good on Dark Armour and Fire Armour, as the KB gives you breathing space for Healing Flames or helps clump them up someplace for a good Dark Regen, Consume, Burn or even your damage auras.

Eviscerate is a terrible opener. Jump in, lead off with Followup, Focus, Slash, then Spin when they've clumped, before backing up a touch to use Eviscerate on as many as possible. Need to give them time to crowd in on you to make Spin and Eviscerate hit as many as possible.

I'm looking at Body Mastery for my Brute, and I was wondering, do end mod enhancements increase the max end you get from superior conditioning? the power description just says 5% so I would guess I should just plug a performance shifter proc in there and call it good

Yes they do, two end mods will give you about 9 more end.

Just depends on how much your brute is hurting for end, really. The bigger your end bar is the more effective +recovery buffs are, so anything that gives you a higher upper limit (body mastery, accolades, IO bonuses) can potentially have a pretty big impact. I've been thinking about changing my SS/shield over to body mastery, but I've have to reslot a bunch of things to make up for lost bonuses.

so, any of you guys have gravitational anchor pieces kicking around that you don't want? They apparently got expensive whilst I was unsubscribed.

I have some stuff I could trade if you'd prefer that over selling them.

When running a shield brute having a stun/knockdown primary helps tons, I rolled mine with Kinetic Melee and he breezed through Praetoria. The old electric melee one also died tons.

Having fun with a Resistance Mind Control/Energy Dominator right now.

I'm trying my best to enjoy my fire/ice blaster, but my survivability leaves much to be desired.

Some fights are okay, too many end with me dangerously low on hp. Probably gets better with IO sets and such, when I can build in some +def and such, but it's frustrating to know that while I have the damage, I can't survive the alpha. :(

Oh well, guess you can't get everything.

ice is actually a pretty great survivability set (shiver++), but without enough +def to live through the alpha you're kinda hosed.

Assuming the sky's the limit with INF, you can have fun with:

Rain of Fire: Ragnorak Knockdown Proc; Posi's Blast Energy Damage Proc

Freezing Rain: Achilles Heel - RES Proc; Posi's blast Energy Damage Proc; Impeded Swiftness Smash Proc; ToLG Negative Energy Dam Proc (plus 2 recharge).

Damage is low enough on FR that you get more for the 4 procs than you do 3-slotted 50 IO damage; 49 IOs vs. 68 Proc Averages.

Plus you keep things on their ass and debuffed even more. Sounds like a fun time to me.

Took me 4 years to get my first 50. To this day I still only have 3 50s. Quite a few 40s... but pushing the last few levels seems mostly irrelevant for most builds. Until Incarnates, that is.
