Also, definitely get a screen protector. I only did after about 3 months of jangling around in a bag with my keys and some loose coins, after it got a few little scratches.
Also I had all my old fingernails in there, that might have contributed.
Haha I must have hit the pad JUST right...well just wrong. Nails trimmed, and will be even more regularly (I promise I'm not like Edwina Scissorhands up there! BTW, he app I was playing? Droplets XL. Not even worth it!
I suppose it's possible that he may have marred the oleophobic coating or something.
Still, I've had my iPod touch for nearly 3 years now, and the screen is sill without scratches. And in any case, can you even see the scratches when the screen is on?

My almost 2 year old love to color on my ipad 2. She basically just scribbles back and forth and being less than 2 years old, for some reason she wants to curl the tip of her finger and so a lot of the time it doesn't register because she's pressing with mostly her nail.
Still no scratches, and I mean she goes at it like crazy.
The good news is I don't notice it unless everything is one color, and I'm working really hard at not noticing it. But it's definitely there... Now you all have me wondering, if maybe they can touch up the coating? Aw well. Not gonna sweat it too much.
Filthy humans figured me out. When will you all make knife finger friendly tablets? C'mon apple!
It's definitely time to go public, Sharp10r. Steve Jobs was down on the concept of a 7" iPad, but he might change his tune once he's aware of the dagger-fingered xenomorph demographic.
So with the announcement of all the new Android tablets (Specially the Samsung 10 inch one) I'm holding off on the Ipad 2.
I really want it mainly for my trip to Comic Con, so I figure either by June there will be in reasonable stock and Honeycomb will be far enough where I can make a decent decision.

I dunno, man. After watching all interest in the Xoom at my store die once the iPad 2 launched, I'm not sure that the Android tablet market stands much of a chance.
And so, while the devices might be decent/good/great, without the apps to power them, there's not much point.

Not to mention that Samsung's own executive VP of mobile devices stated they'll have to rethink the Galaxy Tab 10.1 plans after the iPad 2 announcement.
I would hope that they at least drop the list price, since asking for any more than the $600 that the 7" tab debuted at in the face of the iPad 2 would be insane

Ugh. I've almost given up trying to look for an iPad 2.
Not to rub it in, but I'm sooo glad I took that Friday off from work and went and stood in line at Best Buy from around 1pm and about 11th in line until 4:30 when I got my ticket, my wife got off work early at 3pm, got to target at about 3:30 and was 3rd in line for their 5 ipad2's. So I ended up able to get the model she wanted and target was only offering the model I wanted.
If I had known then that it would be this hard to get one still I would not felt silly waiting in line like I did, and probably would've got in line much earlier.

Anyone heard of Best Buy getting any in for 'reserves' sofar?
I reserved a black 64GB Verizon iPad2 at Best Buy on Monday 14th in the afternoon. It came in a week later on Monday 21st. I'm typing this reply on it
This was in Southern California if that makes any difference.

Ok. Syndalis was totally correct about how easy it is to type on the iPad.
I'm kinda wondering if I really need the wireless keyboard I bought; though, I haven't tried tying for prolonged periods yet, and the CT might mean that I need the keyboard for that.

I do almost all of my posting from the iPad now; if it were hard to type on, I would be a very frustrated person at this point.
Hell, I have done PHP coding on this thing, and with the right software, you can pull it off with minimal frustration.

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
I have an Apple bluetooth keyboard that I use on my desktop PC, and have (once or twice) paired it with the iPad, but I don't prefer to use it.
Honestly, I might be more inclined to use an external keyboard if applications supported it better, but since opening new tabs, typing, and navigating in iCab means having to poke the screen and then move my hands back to the keyboard, it's just frustrating to do so.
I'd like to see more robust keyboard/mouse support built into the OS in the future, but I'd also like to see more options in the virtual keyboard. iA Writer does it right, imo, with cursor keys to skip entire words and arrow keys to move between characters. If I could use that keyboard for all of my typing and web browsing, it'd be a far more pleasant experience than it already is.

I still wish they had added keyboard options with the last update. I'd kill for the option to add a row of numbers with traditional shift/symbols for the numbers. I understand that the keyboard will take up more room but it's worth it to be able to type so much faster...

Ok. This thing is awesome for work (with Pages installed).
The only annoying thing is that while I can download a document straight from Dropbox, after I've worked on it it seems I have to email it to myself and then add it back to Dropbox from another computer.
I have a feeling that some of this might be easier if I had MobileMe or something (though I'm not sure about this).
It's annoying, though I can deal with it. Is there any kind if solution for this, or is that just the way it is?

There's a dropbox app, does Pages support opening the file in other apps? (for example Dropbox). Otherwise you'll probably out of luck. There's been more people complaining about the lack of Dropbox support in Pages.

So, the iPad 2... I awoke on Sunday to find that it had brought me free season tickets to every sporting event, had re-invested my money and tripled it, and cleaned my house. Oh and it's full of stars. About the only thing that is not awesome about it is that it doesn't have the same resolution display that the iPhone 4 has
Sauntered into the campus store today and saw a shiny new 64gig iPad 2 sitting on the shelf, in black. I had a little over $900 credit so I told them to wrap it up.
Now it's sitting on my desk desperately wanting to communicate with iTunes. Soon, lil buddy. Soon.

I have to agree that going from the iPhone 4 to the iPad 2 is a bit jarring in terms of resolution. I guess I'll just have to pick up the eventual iPad with Retina Display (or whatever they end up calling the display).
By the way, any must-get iPad app recommendations? My iPad is still pretty bare.

seriously, your fingernails are not remotely sharp or hard enough to scratch glass.
