I don't mind the change to orchestral in theory. My problem is this example is entirely too slow in tempo, missing all of the sense of urgency and excitement that is (or used to be) inherent to the music in these games. And the fact that it is just too low in volume and is completely drowned out by the "voices".
I finally finished my replay of the original three games. There is apparently something wrong with my memory, because I wasn't convinced that I had ever finished all three games until I wrapped up the final case in Trials and Tribulations. Turns out, I did finish all those games! They are great.
So now I've picked up Apollo Justice, which I can guarantee with 100% certainty that I have not played before. I get the impression that its not everybody's favorite, but having finished Case 1, I'm really loving it so far. Having it finally jump to an actual DS game instead of a GBA port was immediately noticeable, and I'm super intrigued by what is going on here with Phoenix and the mysteries of what happened 7 years ago and just how did he get that hat and sweatshirt. Can't wait to be all caught up so I can snag Dual Destinies at launch.

Burned through all of Apollo Justice case 3 yesterday. I thought it started a bit slow, but the final trial day was really well paced and exciting. My opinion of it might be colored by the fact that my attorney brain was just completely on fire at the end, and I seemed to be hitting every revelation right on beat without ever having to bluff.
I was also not nearly as bothered by "the song" as I expected to be, though they did keep going back to it a little too often at the very end there.
I'm not sure I can finish case 4 tonight, but I'm hoping to be ready for the new game by Friday at least.
I've been watching a translated playthrough of Investigations 2 on YouTube. I'm still early in case 2. Case 1 was much more interesting than most first cases usually are, and case 2 already has some interesting twists.
Edgeworth breaks some rules to solve the first case, which gets him in legal hot water during the second case.
It's a shame we never got this game, because it's great so far.
If it is true that they update at midnight, then sweet! I'll upload it then, along with the latest Daily Puzzle for Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask!
