i think i found 'my character' in ashe; usually i go flash + clarity, items: meki pendant + 2 health pots, then boots and bf sword, then some menagerie of berserker's greaves, infinity edge, some other attack/crit/speed stuff. or i go flash + fortify, in which case i grab another mana item to supplement the meki
but last game i kind of horsed around and went lots of mana stuff (so i could spam volley and help us make escapes), some of which also had AP... and i was doing a lot of damage. i usually go 2-3 kills, 2-3 deaths, 15 or so assists. i went like 8/2/9
i thought even volley was AD?
Volley is AD.
It could've simply been you had more mana to use it more often then you did in your previous game.
Her arrow does use AP tho'.
Hey, try this out:
Ghost instead of Clarity (more safety)
First item: Meki->Tear of the Goddess (more mana to spam volley)
Boots
turn the Tear into Manamune
BF Swords (Infinity Edge) and Recurves (Last Whisper) after that

Just be sure to let the Tear build up it's mana. You'll be spamming your abilities enough that it shouldn't take to long.

You don't need to. The 1k extra mana given by the Tear is shared with the 1k given by the Manamune. Given one of Ashe's abilities is a toggle and one is on a long cooldown, her pool will build up much quicker just from autoattacks.
ok y'all, thanks (and i appreciate the kind words, ell )
i usually don't have severe mana problems with ashe so i'm not sure i want to dump a lot of gold into any sort of advanced/legendary regen/pool items... but i'll give it a try and get back o you

Well, the Manamune is cost competitive with the BF Sword on damage AND solves any and all mana problems forever. Taking it means you don't need Clarity, which means you can take Ghost for alot more safety (and lord knows Ashe needs safety).
How do you run out of mana as Ashe? Even with the nerfs from a few months ago, you still might as well not have a mana pool at all.
constant volley, frost shot on through an entire fight.
Also, needing to reserve enough for an emergency ECA if you haven't opened with it.

Laugh at my bad english skills:
Poppy strutted through the jungle, uncaring to the small animals whom she chose not to end the suffering of. She couldn't care about their fates, for she was a yordle with a mission. The goal: assassinate a champion behind enemy lines. The reward: enough money to buy new boots, and the prestige associated with pulling off said killing.
Popping out of the jungle she saw the target, a heavily wounded Lux from the middle lane, freshly driven away from the battle lines by sister in arms Tristana. Said Tristana was visible from where Poppy was standing, butchering enemy minions and taking potshots at the turrets when a chance emerged - simply routing her foe was a victory for her, a kill was but a bonus. She did no longer care about the Lux far away, busy recalling back to base to heal her wounds and get another shot at the yordle gunner holding the lane.
She would not have that chance. Poppy chanted the rituals of Diplomatic Immunity, a superfluous step considering the situation, but a step she took as killing tradition. She then powered up her Whomper, snuck on the recalling Lux, and struck as hard as she possibly could, sending her lifeless body flying into the other side of the jungle, for the dreaded Lizard to eat her remains.
Before disappearing into the jungle once more, she snuck a glance to Tristana, who responded with a thumbs up and an inquiry on whether it was necessary to always call upon the powers of diplomacy for every single assassinations she does.
"Yes, my friend" Poppy answered. "Yes, the diplomacy is always necessary".
~A League of Legends Yordle Prose by Dac Vin, inspired by that one game where my team ran an All Yordle (And Annie) team [or was it an All Kids (And Blitzcrank) team?] and it was super effective.
Summoner spells: Exhaust and Cleanse. If you're feeling like you NEED it, replace exhaust with smite.
Items: Start with vampiric sceptre. First trip back pick up cloth armor. Second trip back pick up boots 1, next go in this order: Complete wriggles, complete berserker boots, zeal, infinity edge, last whisper, stark's fervor, complete phantom dancer. Start popping red/green elixirs after infinity edge is completed.
Jungle path: Small golems -> spin onto wraiths, kill purple one first -> wolves -> blue golem -> teleport home/get cloth armor, repeat process (leave red lizard if you can, I try to save it for when I start ganking (at level 6 or so).
Skills -> Bloodlust/Spin/Bloodlust/Mocking Shout/Bloodlust/Ultimate/Bloodlust/Mocking shout/Bloodlust -> finish mocking shout/ult -> max out spin last.
Just tried this, won the first game with like 20 kills and 360K damage.

It's great fun when you've had an overall good game going back and forth for quite a while, and then the other team gains the upper hand and starts calling you noobs for the rest of the game.
This game would be about 50% more enjoyable if they just got rid of cross team chat.

i usually have enough to maintain harassment, last a team fight, etc
but for longer team fights, or running a long stretch of the map while chased, etc.- it's great to be sure you'll have enough mana to volley nonstop and have some in the tank for an ult

Good god yes. Nothing good comes from it. Or at least, nothing that would make it remotely worth keeping. One of the saddest and frequentest things that happens in the game is when people begin their appeal to the other team. The "my team sucks but I'm not like them, I'm like you guys, I'm good like you, see?" attempt that people make to group themselves with the winning team, because that's where they really belong. It's so pathetic and I'd wager that an overwhelming percentage of the use of cross-team chat is made up of it.

My favorite is when my teammates start doing this, and then we end up pushing after an ace for the win despite being down 15 kills.
In general there is just way too much bitching in this game. The blame game always starts up the moment something bad happens (or in some cases even when we are winning). The game brings out the worst in people.

My favorite is when we're down a few kills in laning phase and a couple of my teammates just have so much disgust in their voices and are already resigned to a defeat.
And then we lose because of hilariously low morale.

I've never seen this, ever.
That is just weird
I like to do this when I am clearly doing the worst on my team.
that game that i posted last page? the entire fucking time heimerdinger would not stop berating us
"honestly, we should have won this fucking game by now. 48 minutes? are you guys kidding me? lets PUSH"
then he goes up mid by himself while we are pushing down bottom and gets himself killed and asks us why we can't push. for having such a cool name the guy sure was a douchebag.
mitchell you have to teach me your lux secrets because my endgame stats never look anything as good as yours
i can't tell if it's bad teammates not enabling me to do well or if i'm just not that good with her
not all my games are that awesome (though many of the games i have played have ended with me between 10-20 stacks, and winning). it helped that their teemo was summoner level 6, and i was laning with garen.
if you guys want to get even MORE thematic with our lane, we were against katarina (and lux). the lux started going to other lanes to gank at one point and garen and i just kind of went lololrootsandspins on katarina even at her tower
one thing i have noticed my past few games: having a ward in the bush in the river can usually net you a kill as lux if you have a good damage or bursty lanemate. the person thinks they are all sneaky, coming back from healing at fountain, sitting in the bush. then i root them for 2 seconds and geno beam them while my lanemate murders them.
also, get really good at stealing everything from everybody (even your teammates) with geno beam. like seriously stealing dragon with geno beam is the fucking shit especially if you root them afterwards so your team can kill them even if you are on the other side of the wall. its so much easier to time something that will instantly hit in 0.5 seconds from a long distance than like, trueshot barrage, accounting for travel time etc.
one time we had a ward at our lizard because we were pushed so far back and i stole it from whatever enemy was trying to take it from us
I just got a "fuck u bitch" from Tryndamere as Lux. He would pop his ult and then flash out just as it ended. I would then kill him with my giant laser every single time. Also their 4 melee team couldn't touch us. It was just sooooooooo gooooood.

i honestly can't get enough of geno beaming
in fact, due to the fact i am home without my good computer i am currently geno beaming FOR REALS and replaying super mario rpg.
With a 24 second cooldown geno beam I can use it at the start and end of a fight.
I KNOW!!!! i fucking love it
poke with it before the teamfight
use it during the teamfight
snipe the guy who gets away after you win the teamfight.

Alright, I'm like fucking pissed right now and I need some help:
Any fucking way you can FORCE a team to fucking push? Trust me, there's nothing worse than a team not pushing at all and wasting their time with inane stuff.
I believe I have stumbled upon what may possibly be the best Amumu build ever.
I'm not sure which part of this game was my favorite, when I bandage tossed their Eve for half her health while she was trying to gank Ashe, or at the very end when MF and Trist aced each other and we sat and watched our minions destroy their nexus.
edit: just realized how this sounded and i'm for serious. i got tired of dealing with solo queuers too so i just addicted my friends
I literally never solo queue at all. Basically if I can't get at least one other person to play with then I just find something else to do with my freetime!
This is advice that everyone should follow (but I'm sure there will be folks that don't)

how do you take pictures... cause I had a game we lost where i had 35 kills 19 deaths and 10 assists. My entire team only killed 55 people total. I did this while the majority of my team stuck their heads up their asses.
when you are at the score screen print screen puts your entire screen on your clipboard so you can paste it into paint, and if you hold alt + print screen it will only copy your current window, so the whole LoL client screen
after that game with zen (where i died a few times early to a better-than-me ashe but still contributed fairly well, i think) i (my entire team, really) got accused of smurfing 8-)
so hopefully i'm getting better!
reading this thread a lot helps. i still have a bunch of trouble remembering all char abilities and who does ad/ap for what attacks and all, even for 'this week's' champions... but i'm building decent items, i'm initiating and ganking well with my ult, and i'm usually not dying too much. under level 20 i feel like that puts me ahead of most folks.
Also, woot woot Carrykaisering all day erry day. Then sucking hard with Pantheon. Might be getting melee-burnout. Any good ranged peoples I should try?
