That's the exact issue, I think. They don't want a summoner spell defining the game, they want the champs to. A lot of people consider it to be too much of a "get out of jail free" card right now, especially with flashing over walls.
I personally don't run it because I'm not very good with it and usually find ghost + something else to be more useful over all.

But then there would be almost no situation in which ghost wouldn't be more useful.
That's what pisses me off about flash too. When a champion tower dives you and gets away with it because flash cancels out tower projectiles, or Taric stuns, or both in one flash.
He only had 1 death until the end, when he willingly suicided in order to show off his super speed, and then died in the final fight when 3 guys dived past their inhib turrets to fight.

He was. Crit reds, dodge yellows, mr blues, speed quints, if I'm guessing which page he had up correctly.
i usually play a competent ashe in mid but i was against a swain who made me feel like a doofus. he killed me once p. early, then again, then came back with better items and a level disparity, then even with me playing conservatively around the tower he'd simply charge in and ult and kill me
i guess maybe i should have conceded the tower and been zoned out and allowed myself to get out-leveled? at least i wouldn't have fed him
he finished like 13/0/8
it was demoralizing, i don't even want to play again today
Those matches were cool. They were my first two with PA guys, instead of just random dudes. What an incredible difference. It went really well, even if I was a little guilty of being baggage you guys had to drag along behind you.
I've been playing Malphite recently as he's the first character I bought. He's in now way a killing machine, and has to have some form of high dps support to do anything unless the opponent is brain dead. But his ultimate is so ridiculous that it all makes up for it. Oh hay, how would your team like to be popped in the air, and those around me get more damage and a 40% attack speed reduction, while I add a bunch of armor and damage to my melee attacks and slow someone.
Usually the range dps now has a melee next to them and freak out and run or target me, and my teams dps is left unhindered and go crazy.
It's super long cooldown is a bummer until late game when I get something to lower it, which is pretty much frozen brain since not much else armor wise lowers cool down.
I will say that Teemo is a total cock to fight against as a tank. There's no way to tank his poison and early game he'll eat me alive because even if I hit him with my slow, he'll still escape with minimal damage. Only time I can kill him is with help and ultimate.
Also, I'm getting close to 3k IP and want to get a ranged caster, any suggestions? I prefer non-skill shot stuff, I'm terrible with skill shots.

she was probably the DIVIEST katarina i've EVER seen
she was like 6-5 in the early game from diving for kills and getting bad shunpos that put her just behind people and in tower range
then out of nowhere i got mega fed and NONE OF THEM bought magic resistance and i was 3 shotting people, especially warwick and kennen
the best was when i teleported in behind their push, killed the SHIT out of kennen, and immediately used zhonya's while my team got on top of them all
i was legendary and 16-3 til the end when i got a little smartcast-happy and while smartcast riftwalking away i hovered over lux's portrait, causing me to teleport towards lux, who was behind me in the lane while i was running away in river... and i riftwalked on top of tryndamere while i had 100 health

Completely changing subject, I gave Sion more love these days, and I need a bit of help building him correctly. So far the only thing I'm sure is to get Sheen->Lichbane, but other than that? I guess Zhonya is cool but unlike Morg I'm not seeing much utility for the active on Sion.

4 blades on Tristana because we killed her twice during laning, then I had advance wards in their jungle, so I was able to stick around near their second tower solo (ie way the hell past river) without fear of being ganked and kept her and Teemo still harassed while they were trying to farm/push back the lane.

I had a game like that yesterday or the day before. I usually play Mordekaiser really well but I was top lane, forgot who I was with or who I was facing but I got rolled that game. I average 2 deaths or less each game as Kaiser and I went 1/8 this game. I felt so embarrassed since I usually take a bit of pride in how well I roll with Kaiser. Second game I used Garen, didn't do too well, 2/3 at the end of the game. Was disappointed in myself.

Huh. You know I would play Trynd just for that texture. That's really well made.
Edit: @ Stragint. Every once in Awhile I'll get those same games where the stars align and Mordekaiser suddenly becomes squishy despite my best efforts. Usually I'll switch off him for a bit and play Kat or recently Lux and Jax. Then I'll go back to him and realize what true toughness is.

Ya'll should try out Sunfire eve on an alt account, though. Not because it's fun, or because it's easy, but because they will undoubtedly accuse you of cheating because they don't understand how stealth and Sunfire capes work.

Seconded. Annie is amazing. In my opinion, both one of the most competitive and fun casters in the game.
