Tam, you must just be doodling all the goddamn time because I cannot remember the last time you posted any kind of study or observational work, and somehow you have managed to cultivate an extremely technically confident drawing style with strong clean lines, solid anatomy, and character.
If you ever get off your ass and learn how to paint I might have to hunt you down and break your hands to slow you down a bit.
it's all just rough ideas of force, geometric reduction, and proportional archetypes
the character probably comes from finding every shape ever to be somehow aesthetically pleasing
of course I can't construct environments or place characters in them worth a shit, so the method is pretty flawed
dunno if you guys remember the tat design I did for Stale a while ago
but here's a second idea in the vein of the first
it's a theme of animals eaten in the South
Also I got a new version of Flash today, and decided this would be a good opportunity to animate something and play around with the cheesy filters now at my disposal.
However, next time, I think I'd better start off with an actual idea for what to animate before starting off, because then I'd be more likely to end up with a piece I could use in a portfolio, rather than a piece that's a girl with giganto knockers moving around with no real rhyme or reason. I'm not even sure if I should post this, because even censored it's pretty embarrassing to publicize that yes, this is how I spent my entire Saturday.
You and wakk have pretty polar taste in women, its... interesting. Though I guess if you only draw what you are attracted to, I maybe should worry about tams wrinkly men fetish.
Anyways, this is clearly the start of your decent into flash porn. There aren't many good animators in that genre.

I like the minimalist running me, though.
Eh, part of it is taste, part of it is a reaction to a lot of female figures that get drawn in concept art/illustration having largely the same body type, and part of it is I'm not particularly good at drawing women and having them actually turn out looking feminine, so going overboard on the voluptuousness is an easy way to shout at the viewer, "LOOK IT'S A WOMAN, GOD DAMMIT".
Maybe I should stop being a dink and draw a skinnier girl just to switch things up, but if someone says they thought it was a dude at first, I'm going to be annoyed.
Also the question is not whether or not there are good flash porn animators or not...it's whether me getting sucked into the bleak, bottomless chasm of Flash porn will finally net me some DeviantArt hits come on guys I've seen MS paint gaming webcomics get more hits than I do on that shit.
The traffic structure of DA has shifted just a little bit. Now with groups, I don't think people hang out on the first page and favorite new works as they come in. If you want to generate traffic, try finding a few appropriate groups for a work and submitting it to that. You'd be surprised at how many fav's and views you'd get. Submitting my Homestuck stuff to the MSPA group, for instance, got me a good handful of favorites and a place for that work to sit, easily found for people looking for that particular art.
This is of course, if you actually care about DA traffic. DA like any other social site, works better if you use it a lot. Just talking to people and looking active makes people want to watch you and interact with you.
That assasin lady looks a bit thick. She's also got huge boobs; each one is the size of her head.
Well...no shit? That was the body type I was shooting for, I don't know what to tell you. If that kind of thing irks you, I'd suggest you stay far, far away from the girly photos on my hard drive. <shrug>
You guys are right about the face though, it could stand for some restructuring. Putting her face in the shadow like that really brought the nose out in a sharply defined, high contrast way, so I've got to figure a way around it somehow
EDIT: @Iruka: I don't necessarily really care, but they put that pageview number right up front in the interface, and it's hard to not to instantly get in a competitive mindset about it, even being fully aware that it's all totally unimportant BS.
As someone who has studied art with traditional media as extensively as you have Kevin, I am surprised you seem to go for such a glossy smooth look in your digital work.
Been working on a 3D mock up for my latest project. Totally getting out of my comfort zone and making a realistic woman in a fantasy style mock up.
This is the 3D version I have so far to work on as a starting off point.
The painted over version for coming up for ideas. I imagine a strong independent woman character, influenced by some Xena and other fantasy game reference. Like I said, totally not working in my strong suit but it's already been a lot of fun.
Definitely looking for any kind of feedback/suggestions on anything.

Working on another picture now. So this is a WIP.
So far I've just blocked out where I want things to go and I'm adjusting bits and pieces as they fit. Trying to stick to just acrylic and opaque acrylic (Painter 11)
Waka the girls anatomy seems a bit stiff. Particularly her shoulders.
Since that picture looks like it has one dominating light source you should definitely bring the shadows into play to help define the figures.
Will keep this in mind, most of the stuff is placeholder and I'm painting over it. I always keep the shadows last.
I've been following a tutorial by M Darlig on on blocking things out first and then expanding on it, wanted to try it out. putting down big blocks of colour and then blending/moving/distorting shapes from there. I'll see how I go, but this is about 1 hour in.

no disrespect to wakk, but something about bacons animated chick is way sexier..maybe its just the motion. And that curvy chicks are hot....has Wakk ever do some curvy chicks? none are springing to mind

I am in favor of you continuing this trend of drawings.
I'd like to add some of my own observations to that drawing. It looks like you drew a female. She is wearing some clothes. A hood is partially covering her face! I hope these observations were helpful to you.

Oh definitely- now that I look at it again, I've completely missed the likeness of the late Pete Postlewaite, a fact which I'm sure hasn't escaped the more eagle-eyed viewers on here.
Man I can't wait to get home and play some SC 2 moar

Woah, uh, way to jump to conclusions. I didn't know that was the body type you were going for, sorry. It wasn't a personal dig.
The boobs comment still stands though. Look at her face and then her head. They are the same size.
Just sayin'

Pete Postlethwaite had more of a shaved head going on, and this girl clearly has lots of hair. I suggest you do it again until it speaks to me in surly british undertones.

Plenty of women with bodies like that, especially the massive boobs when they reach their later, thicker 40s and 50s.

This made me think of the Family Guy quote "Joe can you put on your hand shoes and take out the garbage?"

In regards to the painting, I think the eyes should stand out just a bit more. Or eye, rather.
I took one look at the other thing and couldn't stop laughing for five minutes.
