If it really will work like that, it will be a great thing to save caps for, I remember having enough caps (and stored gear worth) to just about buy the entire D.C Wasteland in Fallout 3, but there was barely anything interesting to buy anyhow.

    So.... Buffalo Bill?

Didn't he just skin his victims and wear them as a hat? I mean sure, that has its merits too but I didn't think he ate them. Then again it's been a long time since I watched the movie.

On monies and such: Getting a lot of money on Hardcore isn't going to be easy from the sounds of things. I just now decided to sell all my shit in FO3 (my ammo that is) just to see how much money I could get. No vender could trade this, but I have roughly $1,000,000 caps in ammunition on my person.

There was reports on GAF from a guy who apparently got an early copy, in which he bashed the game for having numerous bugs, glitches, and all around unpolished BS throughout. He didn't specify which version, although the majority figured PS3.

Just wanted to know if the PC version received any impressions yet. I'm kind of debating buying it through Steam, but I need to know it won't be some buggy mess that will need a patch or three.

Also, does it use GFWL for Achievements? If I get it on PC, it's going to be played on the big screen with a 360 controller. Essentially the Xbox experience, only better running, better looking, and lots more mods.

    In theory.

Sorry, that kinda comes with the engine. Excpect a buggy as/little less buggy game than Bethesdas.

As for me I didn't run into any serious bugs yet (XBOX360) but then again I do not care about most bugs.

I'm not demanding that it be bug free from the start, it's just that the guy in GAF was really wailing about it, saying it was even worse than Fallout 3. He could have just been trolling, but I just wanted to verify.

Also, is that "exclusive" DLC for Xbox timed-exclusive? I'll assume it is.

And lastly, I asked this before, but what do I need to do in order to have a Steam game install in a separate hard drive?

My main drive absolutely does not have enough space for a game of this size.

There is already a reviewer (Gameinformer) tweeting that he didn't run into ANY bugs during his playthrough.

So, it really depends. Most gamers go after first impressions and hyperbole things that were just as much in F3.

Why are people saying that DLC for F:NV is only for 360? They mention GFWL will get access too. All it means is that PS3 will lose out. No surprise there. Same thing happened with FO3.
Of course, having to choose between having to use and support the PC GFWL client and just missing out on the DLC is actually kind of a hard choice...

Nah, at least with FO3, all you had to do was move the DLC into the data folder and activate it via the mod manager. Let's you use it even when using something like FOSE that blocks GFWL.

I can't wait to see the New Vegas mods.

And if there isn't a Texas Hold'em tournament in the base game, I will be very disappointed. Of course, some modder will fix that.

Then another modder will mod that into Strip Poker.

Then another will mod it into Sex Poker.

Then another modder will turn it into
    Rape D:
    Poker.

Sadly, yes. I still wince whenever I visit the Nexus and see the animated prostitution mod and the various nude/breast size changing mods.

Take comfort in the knowledge that most westerners don't make those mods.

Apparently, they're mostly ported over from japanese/recoded from asian mods. Oblivion started the (horrible) trend, and Fallout continued it.

I'm pretty sure Somethingawful has a very NSFW, utterly hilarious, utterly nightmare fueltastic set of articles on the japanese modding scene for Oblivion. Which is a thousand thousand times worse then the Fallout one is.

To be serious for a second, i'm pretty sure the whole thing has become some sort of self perpetuating beast by now, thanks to the support all mods get in the form of sites like Nexus. Sure, some crazy japanese guy may have popularized the whole "adult mods" thing to the point where they started showing up en-masse on Nexus, but i'm pretty sure he's not the only one doing it now.

    Heatwarming Sawyer Speech

I enjoy talking about our work and I have the good fortune to be able to do so to the press and fans, but I worry that it obfuscates the immense volume of human time, headaches, frustration, and creative passion that goes into making something of this scale. This is not the result of one person's ideas, the fruit of one person's labor. And though the press and fans have emphasized the connection between the Obsidian of today and Black Isle of days gone by, I believe it diminishes the role of both Bethesda, in developing Fallout 3, and the myriad developers at Obsidian who are coming to Fallout for the first time. Without their creativity and drive, this game could never have been made.

We are all momentary heirs to and stewards of this small world. I can't claim to have made it, but I'm glad I had the chance to stay here for a while. I am grateful for all of the many people who have gone before to light the way, and to everyone who came with me into the flickering darkness of the wasteland, guiding my oft-unsteady feet until we found our way back home.

    - That ****er (New Vegas) was a major culprit.
    - Our Vanquish and New Vegas reviews are embargoed until tomorrow morning. Make sure to check out Dtoid for those. Both should be interesting.
    - I can't tell you what I think about the game. But I can tell you that you most likely won't sleep if you get it at midnight.
