I don't know I thought the point that Stewart made about it being easier to talk about transparency when you aren't in the chair was a good one.

Okay, well and good, but where's the funny in them? I mean, the closest I can see is likening the Saleh thing to how they were cautiously in favor of Mubarak staying in power as long as he didn't do anything violent, or calling for Gaddafi to not make the mistakes Mubarak did and listen to his people only to say "Fuck it!" and bomb him later when he turned out to be as big an asshole as we all knew he was. Of course, I'm not a comedian.

As for where they could find the funny, I dunno. Somehow they've routinely managed to make bigotry, war, ignorance, and imperialism funny. How about the irony of a crazed "Christian" pastor committing a violent act against a holy book to denounce the inherent violence of Islam triggering predictable violence against European and Nepalese UN workers in a previously peaceful region of Afghanistan, and possibly setting back the American efforts in Afghanistan by months if not entirely?
I'm pretty sure there's some funny there, even if it's only the funny in Jon's raging at America sabotaging itself again.
