Is like trying to find Paris Hiltons innocence, it's impossible.
I've been trying to find it in the shops, online etc. I can't find it anywhere, does anyone in the UK know where I can pick one up? (with warranty, i'm not really wanting to go the route of ebay.. a proper shop ideally, I guess online is my only option now)
Everywhere I look it is always sold out, I want to buy it damnit.

I've got a spare copy of Portal, if anyone wants it message me.
I didn't realise the United States is part of the UK. My mistake I guess.
Guess I better start looking through kmart, compusa and walmart, can't say i've ever seen them around here but i'm sure i'll find one eventually.
Seriously...
But yeah, that post is entirely American fella, it's totally focused for people looking for a Wii in the US of A. At least when I had a look through it. So you know, I thought.. well, rather than ask about the Wii (looking in the UK) in a USA thread I thought well, I think i'll make a post specific to the UK.

Maybe you should stick (UK) or something in the title so people dont jump on you.
I really have no idea where to find them though, since im in Canada, but over here they're not THAT hard to find.
Point taken and edited to reflect that. Ta.
When I was on holiday in Australia and New Zealand (which ended a couple of days ago.. ) I came across the occasional store which had them in stock, but buying them was impractical.. first it'd eat into my holiday money and second I wouldn't be able to fit it into my baggage.

WH Smith is a good place to check, as they're not often the sort of place people go to buy consoles. They have a small stack at the WH Smith in Luton, for example.

Hmm, i've seen games for sale in WHSmith but never consoles. Next time I pop into town i'll go into WHSmith and have a look if they have any consoles. (this is in Leeds btw)

Well I bought my PStwo and DS Lite from there, and my friend Westy bought his Wii from there. If they're not a company that sells hardware someone needs to tell the girl behind the counter to stop selling her shit to customers.
Have you put an order in? Place like Gameplay.com will show as constantly sold out but only because they'll be shipping them out to existing orders as soon as they get them in. If you put an order in now it'll do you no harm and you can always cancel if you find one elsewhere in the meantime. Then one day you might get that magic email out of the blue.
I forgot to post last night. I walked by HMV today and they have them in in York.
C'mon! It's a £12 return and a 30min journey! Buy a ticket, get on train, 30mins there, 20mins to town, 20mins back, home in another 30! Then you can waggle to your hearts content!
I just went to play.com and they had them in stock. Turns out what they meant by "in stock" was "we just got a batch of them in and they're going to our pre-order folk. So you just got added to the end of the list." Ho-hum.
I'm in Manchester, so we don't keep Wiis in stock. They go. Employees of game stores don't seem to realise that you can't just "come in every day" when you have a full time job.

This site has quite a comprehensive tracking of online retailers Wii availability

Give it time...
Hmm, you're correct. I should have said it that way, considering what I said as part of the sentence as a whole.
EDIT: I'm making less and less sense everyday.

That's quite interesting as they are still sold out in Finland.
Really? There are two Game stores in Leeds and both were out of Wiis.

Although £300 is a horrific amount for a console, especially one which retails for so much less.
Tesco/Asda are good too.
And I saw a sign in front of HMV that said they had them in.
As I said, I can double check all this on my way home, York's only a 30min train ride for you.

Well, I want a Wii pretty bad (*snigger*) but not bad enough to start trailing around the country for one.

You want a Wii pretty bad but not bad enough to spend 30 minutes to get from Leeds to York? Do you know what "pretty bad" means?

Before xmas I did a 3 hour journey to my old home town for one.
Then I couldn't find any other fucking wii-motes.
