Seriously, look at that motherfucking game! If you're not about to throw up from the awesome, you're probably about to throw up because of all the spinning!
You're like, a ball on a thing, and you go fast and spin around!
It has colors! It has speed! It has style! It has a name that sounds like it's short for "pronoun!"
I saw a trailer for this a while ago and I've been sort of mesmerized ever since. I want Proun.
The guy says it should be done by Christmas. I hope so, because if not, it won't be. So that would be bad. Here's the first trailer, and now that I've watched it again it's suspiciously similar to the second trailer...
Hey! This game looks like a game on steam. It was in the Potato Pack for Portal 2. 1 2 3 Kick It I think is it's name. There's not a ball on a rope, but there is that rope in some levels, and the basic "avoid shit that's coming at you" premise is there.

... except 1, 2, 3, Kick It! (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby) is a music game that generates levels based on your songs where you try to score points by shooting targets, getting close to obstacles, and so on, whereas Proun is a racing game where you try to make the best time on pre-made levels by rotating along the center axis.
So, yes, they both have an "avoid shit" premise, but so do all shmups, AaAaAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, racing games, etc.
Downloading it now. Dropped $5 on it for the extra track.
Edit: Annnd Norton just removed it off my computer entirely because not enough people have used it.

There is no reason for this thread to be stuffed this far back! This is a legit free game if you don't want to pay for it. The developer even lets you try it for free and then pay for it later if you want. It's really good damnit! I've been grinning every time I play a new level.
Doesn't work on my netbook Crashes out at the 2/3 mark when loading a stage. But no matter, I look forward to playing this on a nice big screen when I get home in a few days. I love me some twitch racing! (I play an awful lot of grind and tech death metal on Audiosurf)

Third level speed is significantly faster than the previous two, sometimes to the point of where you have to change your previous way of approaching the track because you're simply going too fast to traverse in time.

Other interesting news: this game costs whatever you want it to cost, although if you pay money you get an extra level.

EDIT: beat the first 2 difficulties, dunno if my mind can keep up with the speed of the third.
also, i think i have vertigo now.
i can see this being really cool if the community adds some really long tracks with custom music in there.

The final one is even better.

But seriously. This feels like An Important Game. Unfortunately, none of the reasons it's important are really in the actual gameplay.
