Played Winterbottom for the first time - it's kind of like Braid meets black and white meets the Hamburgler??

The music is awesome, again some of these XBLA games have great music.

I was able to cheat?? in a couple stages by ascending upwards with a sort of Metroid-bomb style technique, is that really expected in this game?? I was thinking 'oh, you're actually supposed to bounce off this platform instead, I just wasted 5 minutes trying to navigate upwards using only my shadow friends'

Youtube it. I compare it's difficulty to Ikaruga.

The new Bionic Commando came out. Plus I have enough points for it and Stacking together!

Now with Jump Button and Mustache

No, this is a "sequel" to the HD reimagining of the first game. It's done by a completely different studio.

Word on the street is (God I hate that term) that it's just a case of reviewers being whiny bitches because the control scheme is different rather than a real drop in quality. On the message boards iv'e seen, most people who played the first say the second is fine.

I haven't played it myself however, so take this with copious amounts of salt.

Sounds great, I'm skeptical of this specific type o' thang - everyone always wants an epic zombie MMO, never seems to materialise.

But since it sounds like it is being published by Microsoft it should

    a) be fuckawesome
    b) actually happen

XBLA would be an interesting platform for a game like this.

I'm actually more excited about the single player game. But if it turns out to be awesome, I could get on board with an MMO. I think there's a game on PC already that sounds like the game they want to make. Fort Zombie?

I'm seeing some complaints about it being too easy, which is worrying because most game reviewers seem to be terrible at games. And a lot of the fun of the first one was that it was pretty damned hard.

I got 800 points burning a hole in my pocket. I dug the demo for The Maw, but it seemed a little on the easy side. Does the difficulty kick up a bit at any point?

Still kinda on the fence about the new and improved version of Hydrphobia.

No, Maw is easy all the way through. It's neat, but the demo is a good indicator of the final product.

Speaking of which, Amazon has 1600 points cards on sale: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Live-1600-Points/dp/B000B9RI14/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1296872910&sr=8-1

I don't know. Not enough that THQ was willing to move it to PC. But like everything else they make, they won every award under the sun.

One of the nice things about it is that they'll probably pimp it out all over again next Halloween. I don't see the rating thingy on XBLA anymore for any games. I don't know how to check it.

The original NES Bionic Commando is one of my top 5 games all time. The first Rearmed is a perfect remake of that. Rearmed 2 is great, but it is different, which is why it's reviewing low, I think. I'm loving it. The levels are much more open with some really tough to find hidden areas, upgrades and weapons, and the swing controls have changed a bit. It takes about a level to adjust to. Plus you can jump, but it's pretty useless. I think they put it in for the whiners who blindly trashed the first one because of the lack of jump.

tldr: I love Rearmed 2, but I loved Rearmed 1 slighty more.

Note also the hair from camera-facing shots of Spencer's head in the cutscenes: it's not that far away from being the 2009 dreadlocks model, just grow it out some more and then have him shave back to a stubble, with it braided. BCR2 seems to have elements inserted into it to bridge the gap a bit between the two games, such as Mags, etc. Even the sequel's swing mechanic feels like a slight mix between traditional and next gen-ish, although it's still recognizably oldschool for the most part.

I finished playing through the Wallace and Gromit games over the weekend - very awesome if you like the idea of a family oriented adventure game. I can't say that certain spots wouldn't have been easier with a mouse, but for me playing on HDTV and nice sound makes up for the wonky control. I just started Sam & Max which seems way longer (probably better value), W&G is recommended for hard core adventure game fans, fans of claymation (see the animation, it's brilliant at times and made with pure love & cheese). The only complaint about W&G is that some of the achievements are surprisingly hard to get if you aren't cheating. You should simply try to explore as much as possible before proceeding if you want to get the achievements (and it also helps you tell who is cheating on the leaderboard, because you are ranked by # of lines of dialogue heard). It's so obvious who cheated, because playing through normally you hear about 2 times as much dialogue.

I also finally went back to MicroBot and played to World 2, it's such a relaxing little game, just floating around in a blood stream and blasting stuff. The additions you get at the end of World 1 are awesome.

Finally I warped back in time and played intern created free game Aegis Wing which pisses me off for only having 5 achievement points in my history list, I made it past the half way point but ran out of time at the last level and gave up. I beat the spider boss looking thing, but it continued past that and I died, didn't want to have to start that level over again. Considering a couple college kids made it, it's a very competent shooting game.
