TRON: Legacy - "I Hear You Like Bikes"

I can't believe we didn't have a TRON thread.

What is TRON? Wikipedia says:
Tron: Legacy is an upcoming American-Canadian science fiction film produced by Walt Disney Pictures to be scheduled for release on December 17, 2010 (US and Canada). It is a sequel to the 1982 film Tron. Joseph Kosinski makes his feature film directorial debut with Tron: Legacy, while the previous film director, Steven Lisberger, returns as a producer. Jeff Bridges reprises his role as Kevin Flynn, and Bruce Boxleitner reprises his role as Alan Bradley and Tron, while Garrett Hedlund portrays Flynn's now-adult son, Sam.[3] The other cast members include Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett, Michael Sheen and John Hurt.[1] According to the latest trailer, the film will be presented in IMAX 3D and RealD 3D.

What else is awesome about this movie? The visuals? Yes. The Sound? FUCK YEAH!

Daft Punk is IN THE MOVIE. They also did the score. The score is incredible. Yes, it is.

I recently was at Disneyland who's running a weekly event on Saturday/Sunday called "elecTRONica" - a sort of dance party with great electronic music, alcohol, a dance floor, a 20-Minute preview of TRON, a real Flynns Arcade with 80's games, and a futuristic bar.

I have to say, after the 20 minute preview I saw at the theater, I was BLOWN away. This movie will influence fashion and visual style for a long time to come.

The movie comes out December 19th - the 3D is very impressive, and the sound more so. See it in IMAX.

    Glow Fest at CDA was pretty cool. We were hells of tired from Disneying all day but we still summoned up the vest to dance in the street to Lady Gaga just before World of Color.

    I do likes me some TRON, so I'm looking forward to this. It'll be the first film that'll actually make me venture out to the cinema in a long while. Hell, I'm even looking forward to the tie-in game which is showing signs of being decent. Fingers crossed, this Christmas could be good.

    If history has taught my brain anything, it's that a sequel like this can only lead to tears and not in the award-winning way.

    Then I told my brain to shut the hell up because for some crazy reason I am totally stoked for this movie. Uncanny valley syndrome used to intentionally make a CG copy of a real actor seem inhuman? Pretty slick. Plus, lots of shiny neon lights and computer stuff and game stuff. This is one of those movies where the writing could be completely mediocre and I'll still consider it a big success if the visuals are good enough.

    Find a cheaper theatre. Most I've paid for a 3D movie was $7 a ticket.

    At elecTRONica in Disneyland they had male and (rawr) female dancers dancing on tron podiums in full costumes with identity disks.
