Bloody Good Time lives up to it's namesake. Oozes character and the rounds though short, are frantic as hell.
Think 'The Ship 2' cause that's pretty much what it is. Played two hours so far and definitely got my $4.50 worth, though I'm pretty bad about thinking someone is stalking me, panicking, and hacking them up with a katana. Fortunately idiots like me are penalized by being taken out for a round after they kill too many "innocents"
also worth noting: That quick look I linked earlier is the 360 version and it don't look so hot cause brad is bad. The PC version supports 16 players instead of 7 and aiming is as easy as it is in any source-based PC FPS
Currently trying to elude the Keeper Enforcers, and I hate everything about them. The fact that their telepathy means I can't judge their direction/distance by sound, their constant alertness meaning no blackjacking...and the sounds I hear when someone gets in their way.
RE4 is a much much better game than 5. Even with the PC port being so bad.
RE4 was a great game. Definitely better than RE5. However, just looking at PC versions, RE5 is the better game. RE5's not terrible, it's just not very creative. It simply took all the ideas from RE4 and reused them in not-Africa.
Also, if you have a friend with RE5 PC, it's definitely worth picking up. I feel like the people who rag on RE5 are the ones who went through it single-player with AI. You do it that way, yeah, it's not so fun. However, hop on with a friend, and you will absolutely have a blast.
The mouse hack for RE4 PC was not very good, the last time I checked, kind of janky. I guess you could play it with a gamepad. RE5 doesn't have this issue, I think.
In the PC version of RE5 you don't get a laser pointer anymore it's a huge crosshair that takes up way to much screen space. There must be some kind of mouse acceleration too, cause aiming isn't very smooth.
Almost every game (and even your OS, at least on Windows) has mouse acceleration turned on by default. I highly doubt that is a problem with RE5.

Wee... "Steam servers are busy" so sorry, you're not allowed to play the game you paid for.
How the fuck do I get around this?
EDIT: Found the offline mode which enabled me to pause the update... let's hope this works. Grr.
I think this meme is appropriate now:
FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
It's just beyond me how people can think Steam is actually good... it's the worst piece of shit online store, with the worst piece of shit DRM that I've ever encountered!

Heard the proposition that RIAA and MPAA should join forces and form "Music And Film Industry Association"?
Games need to be fully updated to be played in offline mode. If you really want to play in offline mode, start the game once in online mode and then switch to offline mode.
Also, you've complained about Steam that I remember you as that guy that hates Steam.
The only time I ever see the "Steam servers are busy" error is when a large game or update has just been released, so I don't really understand why you're getting it.

If that's a sarcastic retort (very badly) aimed at me, you should know I wrote online store because there are alternatives which aren't as obtrusive and where the updates are optional, like for example Impulse.

Oh, and I forget: Some recent Mac ports like Supreme Commander 2, and probably also Civilization 5, requires Steam, but doesn't actually handle updates through Steam... perhaps I should no longer consider this to be a bad thing.
(But then the Steamworks requirement is completely wasted, because it's only for DRM, and in the case of Supreme Commander 2, you can't even buy the Mac version from Steam, even though it requires it... you actually have to buy it from a competing digital download service!)

I don't know why you would expect a game that is in the middle of updating to launch. If you don't want games to automatically update right click on the particular game, go to properties, click on the updates tab and select "Do not automatically update this game."
Why are you still in the steam thread if all you are going to do is complain about steam? Do you want help? What you are doing is basically trolling, and you probably aren't going to get nice responses helping you if all you do is try to bash steam and whine in the steam thread.
I don't know, Diannao, I think I'm going to stop using Steam and never play any of the many, many games I've bought ever again. His well-thought-out posts and charismatic forum persona have changed my viewpoint and now I hate Steam too but will continue to use it and complain loudly about it.

I can't be trusted to be very clear on my reasoning, but the retort was aimed (Very excellently) at anyone who complains about Steam - If I had to rely on the other download services in the industry (That is, if Steam didn't exist), I think I'd have to die.

Steam isn't that bad, but that's kind of his point I imagine. If you DO hate Steam or GFWL or whatever, why the hell should you be forced to use it if the game doesn't even take advantage of it? You shouldn't. And then maybe you'd just prefer it without it even if it does integrate it beyond DRM for whatever reason. Not a unreasonable position, even if it works fine for you.

every time I see someone complaining about steam I imagine them to have a stovepipe hat, handlebar mustache, and substitute "cornswaggled horseless carriage" for every instance of "steam"
No point ganging up on him. I absolutely hated the idea of steam back when it was first rolled out and offered nothing but some ugly front end tacked onto Half Life. Then HL2 came out and I figured "Why not? I'm getting a boatload for the asking price anyway (they were throwing in HL and all the expansions and CS and CS:S and some game I've still yet to play called Ricochet). Then I mostly ignored it for years until a thread here convinced that Stalker was the best thing ever, I got it on sale through steam, and never looked back.
I probably still wouldn't be using steam if it weren't for the sales. The community features appear amazing but I don't have any friends who play computer games nor do I do much multiplayer gaming.
My point is we all have our irrational or semirational hatreds. I fucking LOATHE XBL as a pay-service and will never understand it, but I've given up caring. It's clearly not for me. If steam offers nothing to you that you can't get through brick-and-mortar, you have every right to hate it as a needless complication. And there is no way we can offer fixes for that sort of problem in this thread.
BTW, changing your region can sometimes convince steam to try connecting to other servers. Some ISPs even run their own steam servers. If you are consistently getting those error messages I would probably start investigating in that direction. Anecdotally speaking it seems to be rare to see that message often.
A world, where, perhaps, it has been bought out by Microsoft. None of the games work. None of the non-GFWL games ever go on sale. An ad plays as you launch each game....

Not unreasonable until you start saying that all the other systems are clearly so much better.
At which point I can only look back at my experiences with GFWL and shake my head sadly. Eating savegames is a standard freaking feature of GFWL as far as I'm concerned.
Steam has been amazing for me. You can't argue with the discounts, plus man it's so convenient. Would I rather go through a bargin bin (that largely doesn't exist for pc games in my area) at some store or log in to steam and snag an awesome game for 5-10 bucks? Yeah think I'll go for the latter.
Even if I could get better deals at brick and mortar stores, my time is worth the extra money to me.

Even if it doesn't take advantage of every bell and whistle, by simple virtue of being a Steam game I can download and install it anywhere I happen to be if I have a good internet connection. And from the publisher's perspective I'd imagine the DRM scheme is a big plus.
And as with any other Steam game you have access to your universal friends list, Steam overlay, and automatic patching (except for a few special cases apparently). All Steam games take advantage of several features that are built into the service.
Man, I remember when there were actually valid things to complain about
Remember when friends didn't work?
That period of time is so extensive that I can only remember parts of it, because to behold the entire stretch in one chunk would be to overwhelm my capacities for rational cognition.

This.
Most of my memories of steam friends involve seeing it saying that it was "Down" for years.
I'm in the Cradle. Found the first note and had to stop for a little while.
Of course, the thing I hate is that the writer in me is taking notes on the whole experience. "Oh, that sound was well-placed. That choice of words was perfect." It breaks the immersion a little bit, but it's my own fault. :P
In any case, I hope I don't have to go out of my way to get enough loot on this one, because staying any longer than I have to is gonna be...ugh.
It is absolutely astounding how awesome and excellent Steam is for how little annoyance and evil you endure in return.
It's awesomeness-to-annoyance quotient (or excellence-to evil-quotient) is positively off the charts.
Put another way, it's amazing how relatively little you have to put up with in the way of technical shenanigans and greedy invasive digital media corporation bullshit when you consider all the advantages Steam provides.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I, like other rational human beings, love Steam.

Sat down a few nights ago with Titan Quest after buying it on sale, and I can't believe I never got into this game before. It may be the massive number of class combinations, but it has completely sucked me in.
Got a friend to dust off his copy, figuratively speaking, and start up a character with me and we've been making our way through Normal mode here and there for the past few nights.
To toss a coin into the "Steam isn't actually working at all for me right now" pot, it well, isn't really working at all for me right now. The only thing I can do, rather humorously, is Friends. The Store, News, and Community home pages don't load in Steam for me at all. Trying to launch a game shoots a "This game is currently unavailable" error.
I've tried all of the standard Steam troubleshooting steps and still nothing.
Yes, Eversion is great and should be played by everyone. You can get it for free if you want but I wanted to see the hi-def version and support the dev at the same time.
I'm also eagerly awaiting SMB, the 360 demo was great. I must be on a 2D platformer kick because yesterday I ordered Battle Kid as well.
Worms is okay. It's not as good as Worms Armageddon but it's miles ahead of the 3D entries in the series that we've had to endure over the last decade.
