Not often that I am genuinely surprised these days...but this would be one of those times. I've been instructed to pay it forward, and I most definitely will.
I also never got into any of the social features of steam but I think my heart just grew three sizes so if anybody wants to add me my steam name is the same as my forum name with a "1" after it.

hm so here's the question
Is Alpha Protocol worth 7.50
Yes.
So yes I feel compelled to say so even after the AP thread title was changed to reflect this.
Normally I'd add caveats like "if you liked Mass Effect" and "It's made by Obsidian, so gird your loins for some glitches" and "It gets better after Saudi Arabia" but for $7.50 none of those should stop you from checking it out.
Heck, I'd buy it again if I thought it'd convince Sega to greenlight AP2.
To add to what is becoming a chorus of support, yes, Alpha Protocol is totally worth $7.50. It was certainly more deserving of the $50 I paid for it than the $50 I paid for Mass Effect 2.
So the rules for the Wishlist Giveaway are saying "single game titles". Does that mean no collections, or just no duplicates (which, how?)?
It means you can't add the THQ/Star Wars/Valve/whatever packs, or the collections like GTAIV Complete Edition. Try the ones you want, though, because this isn't 100% consistent. For example, DAO: Ultimate Edition is considered one title.

Only one that worries me / is borderline is Lego Harry Potter.
Have I mentioned lately how completely awesome those little figures are? Everyone goes on and on about GlaDoS and the Team, but no-one recognizes those little dudes. Blue Blob, Purple Stilts, and Brown Lump are new; Yellow, Orange, and my personal favorite, Social Outcast have been around for a long time.
If a pack can be added to your wishlist, it'll count. If you add something that doesn't qualify, it'll just show up as the base game or not show up at all. This is how I figured out that GTAIV Complete Edition doesn't count.

Copy of half life 2 is gone! Only took me a few years. Still looking for trade on the SSHD gift.
I have totally emailed Gabe my suggestion that the Steam Pals receive names.
Hell, give them a cute puzzle-adventure game.
And plushes!
It just underscores my belief that there's something different about Valve. They have a way of infusing character into what, from any other company, would be derided as cheesy marketing.
I'm considering filling up my wishlist with cool games which I can't run so that if I win, I'll have an almost legitimate excuse to get a gaming desktop.
But on the other hand, this is a wishlist. What if one of the aforementioned games with high system requirements goes on sale and someone gifts me it? I would feel bad that they'd see 0 hours played for the next year or two.
Brainpipe is fucking excellent. As is Gridrunner Revolution.
From what I can tell, Jeff Minter basically decided that after all of you IDIOTS not getting Space Giraffe, he was going to make a game that it would be impossible for anyone to not enjoy.

... I have now realised that Space Giraffe is on Steam. I may have to buy it.
that price point is also pretty perfect for capcom games
you hear that, capcom?
also wishlist shenanigans sound fun, gonna put one together tonight.
Man it's not a Capcom game, it's an Obsidian game. That's like calling Star Wars a 20th Century Fox movie. Just because their logo's somewhere in there doesn't mean they imprinted their essence into the thing or something.

THANK YOU KIND PERSON! YOU ARE CREDIT TO TEAM!

They need [real] names.
Hell, give them a cute puzzle-adventure game.
(I'd totally gift it to someone if I had the money but fucking birthdays man, they're gonna kill me.)

On the other hand, would I find time to play it? I have plenty of games I bought in last year's Steam sales that I haven't touched.
Ah but do your friends have those games?
Disregard, all filled up.
I KISS YOU!
Which had initially worried me since I have both Dungeon Siege 3 and Deus Ex HR in my top 5.
This is awesome news, I had to dig really deep to find 5 games that I don't own already.
here's hoping i win!
also i feel i probably could've found some better games, but i can't be bothered
Pretty tempted to pick up Alpha Protocol, if Steam will accept my card for once.

Yes, you have a little less than 18 hours.

I can't imagine why.
I'm actually getting around 1 MB/s, which is rare for me during big sales.
