So is the collector's edition worth it? The only thing I want from it is the DLC characters but they'll be out eventually anyway and I don't really like them. Is there a chance they'll be more then 10$?
I'd guess at least not less than $10. Capcom charges nearly $5 for their costumes in SSFIV (though they are 5 packs). It wouldn't surprise me too much if price for them wasn't announced until well after the game is out.

We get a month of access to Marvel's digital library, right?
That, at the very least, intrigues me.

No offense Chris Redfield, but both Leon S. Kennedy and Hunk would be way better and more recognizable.
Though with the random insertion of female characters (tee hee) I could see Ada or Jill show up.
Jill is a legacy slot Wesker is the series antagonist.
Past that considering they went with Actual Dante and Not Dantward I see no reason to whore RE5 so much when Leon's games have been more popular overall .
I actually meant Claire, not Jill. oops!
@dragkonias I fail to see how Chris is more recognizable than anyone. He's so generic looking, he's like the guy from Winback but now he has an earpiece.
I don't have a 360 though, so I didn't play 5 (though I watched most of a playthrough), and my friends who did play it seemed to find it pretty forgettable, so maybe it's just a local thing.

Just because you don't know who a character is doesn't mean it applies to everyone.
Keep waiting. They killed him because most people hate him. And if you thought Hulk, Thor, or Superman were hard to put in a game with fella's like Chris, Sentry's on a whole new level. He's practically a god, and not in the Thor sense, in the I can make earth disappear with a thought sense.
Sentry is in the game.
To play him, wait for the other play to put a quarter in, then yank the plug out of the wall. Then shout "Victory!"
From Capcom's dev blog, looks like we'll be given user-cards to track how badass or just bad we are:
We have a few more details that we can share with you about the different modes you can play and license cards! What are those? Hit the jump to find out!
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has all the robust fight modes you’d expect from a fighting game. There’s single player and versus, the latter being available for online play. In the Mission mode, users can train themselves with a series of character specific challenges.
If you want to study up on how your opponents play, check out the license card. The data found here tracks player tendencies based on their fighting style. Your own license card will in fact record your data, let you choose your favorite icon to represent you, and record your battles and player points. The data in the license card will allow you to see positive and negative points about your play style. By reviewing player data online, you can find friends and rivals to play against and then do “recon” as the fight starts-up. The license card will allow you to see who an opponents favorite team of characters is, number of wins and losses, what kind of attacks they like and much more.
I'm amazed and wonderfully surprised that Shuma's in it again. He's so classy.
Seriously, that is pretty dumb. "Hey, you want me to show you who my mains and subs are before the match so that you can counterpick me or decline a matchup you don't like? Well, I don't have a choice!"

I like blind select. In SSFIV it's already made me better at just playing with a core person or group of characters than trying to counter-pick everybody. It seems like it will keep the fun factor up, rather than people just realizing good matchups and taking anybody I pick apart.
Isn't Shuma-Gorath supposed to be one of the strongest marvel characters ever? There are some pretty broken people in the verse, but Gorath is painted as this unstoppable force.

More or less, yeah. pretty sure he's supposed to be nigh invulnerable to anything but the strongest magic around
In his home dimension he's basically indestructible. In other dimensions he can be damaged (by powerful magics) and even "destroyed" but he can just reform again in his home dimension. Basically he keeps getting banished by sorcerers, never truly defeated.
The problem with Shuma-Gorath as a character is that he's kinda predictable. He can't be destroyed and he has one weakness. From the moment he shows up you know how it will eventually end. I mean, his powers are neat. What he can do is nearly limitless, but eventually Dr. Strange or some other powerful (often time traveling) sorcerer is going to show up and banish him from the realm again.
That's exactly how I've felt about Superman for years :P . They've made Superman weak to a lot more over the years though, because yeah it used to be Kryptonite in every damn story.
I just used a generic term. As I understand it Galactus kills palnets to keep the universe going. If he stops and something else doesn't take his place the universe ends.

Oh yeah, I like blind select too. I'm more saying that putting the cards up before the match defeats the purpose of blind select.

Most online multiplayer games would probably be better off without any kind of stat-tracking at all. You always have to deal with twerps who only care about boosting their numbers otherwise.

Superman has been seriously weak to magic for centuries.

I don't think he has a weakness to magic anymore. He's vulnerable to it, yes, but not anymore than any other superhero. The explanation for that weakness was really lame anyway, and most writers didn't really explore it too much.
I was more referring to his more recent vulnerabilities such as attacks on his mind, non-magical attacks by demons, and sound has been used to break his concentration.

Sort of. The Dr. Strange storyline where he debuted was one big Cthulhu Mythos homage, with Doc encountering weird alien demons with names like Shuma-Gorath (Shub-Niggurath), Kathulos (Cthulhu), Dagoth (Dagon) and the Serpent-Men (Deep Ones). Shuma and Kathulos didn't have too much in common with their namesakes beyond being bizarre tentacle monsters, but Dagoth was basically Dagon and the story with the Serpent-Men was an extended Shadow Over Innsmouth pastiche.

Well Marvel has never had an excuse until recently but DC can blame Time Warner/Aol/UTRAMAGINUS THE DEVOURING GOD for their lack of internet savvy.

That's one of my complaints about MVC2 and something I'm glad they're fixing it. There's no real Capcom or Marvel personality to the game.

Galactus isn't really concerned since he's basically entropy and the universe ends when he does.
