The elven warrior watches in slow motion as the shaman's hand dips to her bag, anticipation building at the thought of another communion so soon. She barely hears Teo's orders, instead keeping her attention glued to the small wafer arcing across the distance between them. She snatched it out of the air, coveting the offering and savoring the tangy sting against her taste buds. Coaxoch didn't know if it was the communion itself or just the memory of its effect, but her heart began to pound and her hands twitch for action none the less.
Somehow she managed to cue Crowley to take his place by Xipil as she indulged her addiction, slowly making her way to a point between the eastern gates and Teo.

With that, he gestures to his comrades to display their skill in any way they feel appropriately amazing.

Taking a cue from the cahulak-wielding templar, Aureus chuckles at the idea and gives himself over to his well-practiced entertainer mode.
"Some of you might have happened upon a variation of this performance while browsing the wares of Merchant-Prince Exajtlet... behold the Dance of the Dark Moons!"
Drawing his other mundane dagger, Aureus begins twirling his three short blades in his hands, juggling them with flourishes and panache.
Mentioning the name of his former employer sends his mind back to the indiscretion with Exajtlet's niece, Xannatlech, that landed him in this arena. He scans the crowd as best he can to see if he can find the merchant-prince and his niece among them.
Coaxoch tilted her head to the side as she watched the antics of the Erdlu and the blade wielder. A display? Such strange behavior before a battle...
But Teo had said to follow his orders, so she looked around for something fun to do. Near her feet was the body of an unfortunate slave, its head nearly severed - with a flick of her wrist she had the head securely in her hand, and tossed it high into the air.
Dodging spattering blood droplets, she leapt into the air in a spectacular backflip, kicking the head and sending it shooting across the arena like cannon fire. It hit the door with a loud splat, and hung there - imbedded on the old hinges and metal plates.
The tall elf landed gracefully and gave Teo a sly smile. Maybe she'd get lucky and the head would fall off as the next wave came through to hit someone unawares... no better way to start a battle than by insulting the opponent...
Teoxihuitle smirks back in amusement at her warrior's little display of prowess, then turns and bares her teeth at the crowd. They wanted entertainment, did they? Very well then.
Mace clutched tightly, she turns and makes a sweeping gesture, collecting a small eddy of spiritual energy around her as she does, which sends the sand at her feet into whirling movement.
“You j'rketch humans enjoying yourselves? You think you’re invulnerable up there in your comfy seats?Si h’vyo h’kika, w’we puktig shl’shten!”
Xipil’s roar echoes even above the noise of the crowd. Then, with a very rude elvin gesture from Teo, the insectuar takes two enormous bounds and leaps high in the air, straight for a section of the crowd, amongst them a group of templars that had nodded at the announcement of their group's imminent doom with such smug satisfaction. At the sight of the large creature rushing straight for their throats several of the strapping men let out horrified yells and stumble back, nearly tumbling each other to the ground in their haste.
A split second before the closest might feel the needle sharp claws ripping through his jugular, the insectuar disappears with a swirl of sand and heat, showering the hudled humans with fine silt. Xipil reappears a moment later at Teo’s side and she gives him a rewarding pat, grinning fiercly up at the collection of pale, shaken templar faces.
Free action: Trying to get some of those spectator templar minions to piss themselves (no offence, Chet and Mat :P ).
Language:
'Si h’vyo h’kika, w’we puktig shl’shten!' = ....not something a well-bred female elf should ever utter in polite society...if there were such a thing as 'polite society'
With the familiar grinding of ancient gears, the West and East open with slow, nerve-wracking motion. For a moment, there is only the sound of the audience, holding their collective breath to see what might emerge... what next my challenge those haughty gladiators - those audaciously brave men and women in the sands below.
To the East, the stampeding of sandaled feet - now becoming something of a familiar sound - can be heard in the crowd's anticipatory silence. And from that open steel maw of the arena wall pours out a veritable legion of slaves, armed to the teeth - surrounding a singularly dangerous looking man - covered in eldricht tattoos, scars, and strange markings. He seemed eerily calm amidst the rabble of slaves who seemed to rush about him.
It happens in a flurry of motions - and the gladiators seemed to eat through the front line of slaves without resistance at all - a handful of them falling as they rushed ahead - caught by expert attacks by the gladiators.
Aureus killed Slave 11.
Mahzz killed Slave 8.
Chet kills Slave 9.
Slave 4 moved close enough to provoke Xipil and then was also killed by the crazy spirit beast.
The remaining slaves hold back momentarily, and seem to be waiting for some kind of signal from the dangerous looking man in their center - who draws forth a bow made of some strange bone, with a giant's hair string, and sends out a obsidian tipped arrow screaming towards Coax...
Hamnut shoots an arrow at Coax.
19+14=33 vs. AC. HIT. 6 damage. Coax is "Marked" by Hamnut until the end of his next turn.
The other slaves seemed to be waiting.
To the West, there is no such motley horde. The silent, lethal shapes of two beasts - who look like Insectuars, but whose dark markings are not right - somehow shifting in their pattern - their chitinous hides covered in arcane etchings, dark magics to be sure. These two creatures, warily eyeball the arena and seem to be escorting a third figure... a tall, refined looking man of obvious Raaman heritage - were he in different circumstances, you'd mistake him for a noble - such is his haughty bearing. The two defiled insectuars nuzzle him affectionately and as he breaks past the shadow of the arena walls, his features become more distinct - and more obviously warped by powerful defiled magics.
Within moments, the peace is broken when the tall, noble man lifted up a regal hand and gestured to Mahzz..
"What dark magic is this? How can you be here?!" and with these words, so filled with venom, a great gout of searing acid leaps from his fingertips, exploding amidst the gathered gladiators in the middle of the arena... the two insectuars leaping into the fray - to be met head on by the counter-charging Kabocha...

Mahzz grimaces and clutches the burns caused by the acid attack. His jacket again twists cords of blood around his form, granting some extra protection. Gritting his teeth, he turns to get a better view of the one who thinks he recognizes him. Mahzz doesn't recognize the defiler. "And who are you to think you know me, eh? I sure as hells don't recognize you!" With that, the wizard points his blade at one of the insectuars, Hlaa.
"You're going to regret harming my compaions! Forces arcane, smash, rend my enemies!" An orb of force launches from the blade tip and screams down the battlefield, slamming into the insectuar Hlaa.

Mahzz's orb breaks against the insectuar, but the creature is unfazed. The shreds of force whip into the foes next to it though, shredding them. The wizard stays put and holds his center. He then snarls at the defiler, "And if you liked that, I have more!" She is so focused on the flood of slaves before her that she doesn’t see waht is coming from behind until it is too late. She hisses in surprise as pain blossoms down her back and turns as best she can to catch a glimpse of what attacked them. Another defiler. Spirits damn them, but they were everywhere!
She also sees their own wizard launching multiple attacks at the dangerous new enemy, in spite of appearing to sway on his feet as he does. Teo very pissed off about those acid burns...
Crowley hissed at the slave through the bone structure, watching as the unfortunate man readied an attack. In a flutter of scale and feathers, the serpent rose up over the bones and attacked from above. The slave flinched as the snake speed down at him, raising his sword just so....
The light reflecting off the weapon blinded Crowley at the last second, and the serpent misjudged the angle and colliding with the top of the bone structure on his way down. Coaxoch could only grimace as she watched Crowley slide to the ground, landing in an embarrassing heap where he had started.

Being engulfed in acid does not improve Chet Olmec's mood at being ignored by this new arrival. He runs toward the wizard, his cahulaks streaming back from the corpse of an unfortunate slave to wrap around his arms. He halts well before the melee and declaims thusly:
"Your enemy is me, Defiler! Olmec PUNCH!"
An eldricht wave flows up from the ground behind Ptah, coalesces into a mental fist that slams into the wizard's mind and sends him staggering drunkenly toward Chet Olmec. After taking a moment to sneer at his impolite foe, Chet looks over his shoulder at Mahzz.
Audio "Yeah... More surprises, Mahzz? Let's take this one alive."
Chet Olmec turns his attention back to Ptah and tries to entangle this second mysterious defiler in a web of whirring caholaks, but it proves as difficult as attempting to penetrate the first mysterious defiler's web of deceit. The challenge proves invigorating.

She'd knocked into one of these new creatures fairly hard. Kabocha only hoped it was enough to keep him hurting for a bit. Turning her attention to the other of the two monstrosities before her, she decided a firm introduction was in order. Mostly between her maul and its person.
Holding to the crosswise approach, Kabocha released an almighty blow to the main bulk of the insect-thing. Pulling the surrounding air with the head of the maul, like the baby steps of a tornado, she made contact. Not satisfied with a simple blow, Kabocha forced a follow-through that physics may not have intended, bodily moving the creature. The displaced air seemed to have pulled itself from the other enemies surrounding her as well, leaving them somewhat...winded.

The strike was clean. With only a little more elbow grease, her sights should be cleared as well.

Mace clutched tightly, she turns and makes a sweeping gesture, collecting a small eddy of spiritual energy around her as she does, which sends the sand at her feet into whirling movement.
“You j'rketch humans enjoying yourselves? You think you’re invulnerable up there in your comfy seats? Si h’vyo h’kika, w’we puktig shl’shten!”
Language:
