SlayerSBoxer is the super awesome SC1 player formerly known as Boxer, also refered to as "The Emperor" in korea. Fake boxer named himself boxer because the first boxer was his hero and this was before the real Boxer was playing SC2. Fake boxer said that he will be changing his name for the next tournament.
I think he should stick with Fauxer, though hardly anyone in korea will know how clever that is :P

Ah I see that makes sense.
So how does the GSL work? is it single elimination games tournament over a month?

Each GSL starting in 2011 will have two tournaments:
S-code is the top tournament comprised of the top 32 players from these three GSL qualifying tournaments. Top 8 is guaranteed Code-S.
A-code is the secondary tournament comprised of players ranked from 33-96 (64 man tourney).
After every GSL there will be a qualifying round to promote/demote players for the next GSL. The bottom S-code players will play the top A-code players for a spot in the S-league. The bottom A-code players will play the top 32 from Battlenet for a place in the next A-league.

So you will need to be top ranked in your region's ladder to even attempt low-tier GSL qualification next year? Or is it just top 32 in the world by points?

So I had a rewarding PvT yesterday. The terran successfully built a proxy barracks in a dark corner of my base before I noticed it, and a bunker shortly thereafter. Normally when this happens I'm screwed but for whatever reason (probably related to the copious amounts of day9 I've been watching), I handled it perfectly. Amazing what probes pulled off mining and a zealot or two can achieve.
I used the probes and a zealot to break the bunker and kill the marines, then went back to mining and killed marines as they came out with two zealots and a stalker. Then I dropped a pylon in his main and warped in a handful of zealots. I hit his choke with the zealots and stalker to distract him, then ran the zealots I warped in straight into his mineral line. He gg'd and left.
So I'm still at a point to where I can play any of my buds, or any of you fine folk here, and do okay (considering my skill level), and not be nervous.
The moment I hit ladder games, though, I fucking crumble, as it feels like I'm under a pressure to preform, like if I do some sort of triumphant win I'll be flown to Blizzard headquarters and knighted tomorrow

I played a few games against a friend of a friend till I found out he's an e-celeb (buddhist, pvp rogue) from the wow days and actually pretty amazing at starcraft and now I don't think I can play him
Even though I've beaten him once, I doubt I could again just because before it was some guy now its someone who has a starcraft blog in which they do a mass recall 104 banelings vs 2 platinum players (infest probe->tech up to mothership)
I'm starting to like rocks. The ones near enemy bases are convenient for charging void rays right before you attack. Also, I've just reached 100 1v1 wins as protoss.
I played a Terran yesterday (also platinum) who didn't seem to understand what to do after his hellion drop didn't work. He went mass marauders, I made colossus o he made vikings, so I just made immortals/zealots and ROFLstomped his army.
He also let me get up on 3 bases and didn't attempt to harass my natural or my expansion once. I just expanded after every decently sized engagement.
I got 6 pooled on close positions metalopolis. With the usual 12gate and chrono first zealot he had 6 lings in my base as it was 25% done. then he kept pouring lings in, and that's with me blocing entrance with 2 pylons which he simply destroyed.
Do I really need to completely wreck my economy and go 10gate/forge first in PvZ just in case of 6 pool these days?

Yeah, i've had massive problems dealing with early pools as protoss.
Even if I chronoboost my zealot they can get by before I finish my next one or take down a pylon.

Wall off with 1 zealot slot = buys time for a sentry or stalker. No problem.

You shouldn't need the forge, you want to scout on 9 and drop a gate on 10 if you see a 6-pool and then chrono zealots like crazy, and you will probably need to pull some probes. But after you hold off the attack, he's at a huge disadvantage.

Close positions metalopolis, lings get there before zealot is done.
Another zerg just tried to 6 pool me, far spots on LT without scouting. I got a forge down and blocked with cannons. At this points he had won the game, but did some hilarious mistakes. My scouting probe was left alone at the back of his main, made a proxypylon while getting 3 warpgates and +1 weapons.
I warp in 5 zealots and a stalker while I get ready to expand with some sentries. I completely destroy his dronewhoring zerg ass since he didn't make more than 12ish lings, which easily fall to +1 zealots. He leaves without saying anything since when queen dies and I get working on his droneline.
Had he actually scouted, not let me proxypylon, kept poking my ramp/lings at watchtowers he could have purely droned and made one round of lings or roaches and destroyed me as I moved across the field. Luckily low diamond zergs around my level obviously got there purely on winning with 6 pool against toss.
I could have had zealot out this time, and cannons were a bad choice. But I won, so feel good!

Uh, if you scout on 9, there is no way you can drop a gate on 10 in response to scouting info. I always scout on 9, and by the time my scouting probe reaches the closest position, I'm already at 12 going on 13 supply (take Steppes for instance, by the time the pylon finishes, my scout is just reaching their natural. I chrono out two probes immediately that are finished by the time I enter the main and can spot the pool, or lack thereof.). That said, as long as I see the 6, 7, 8 pool coming, I just double up on pylons and then wall off with a second gate way, or forge. By the time they take one pylon down, you should have a zealot out and a second being chronoed.
@Jars, you can try to beat a six pool with just workers, but it's an iffy proposition. If the zerg just a-moves his zerglings, then yeah, you'll beat him. But all he has to do is keep kiting your probes and avoid getting surrounded. Meanwhile you're losing mining time while he keeps streaming zerglings over. If he takes down the pylon on your gateway you're hosed. Let's just say, if he gets into your base before your zealot is out, the situation favors the zerg.

There was a video somewhere that showed defending against a 6pool using a fast forge and well-placed cannons. Seems really effective, actually.

I'm not exactly sure how the preliminaries work, but the RO64 and up are all single elimination BO3 with semifinals BO5 and finals BO7.

I'm pretty good at beating trus. If he has to play against Trus in the GSL, I'm his man.

The question is, is idra trolling his opponent, or should we be getting sad? :P.
