Need decent day long snacks.

I've been trying to manage my munchies and various diet issues. One problem I have is the blood sugar rollar coaster. I'm not diabetic (yet, whew) and I'm trying to avoid becoming so. Mind you, I am slightly hypoglysemic (it runs in the family) and if I don't have SOMETHING in me I get shaky.
So, what snacks are cheap, better for me, and will keep in an office over the course of a week?
I've been trying peanuts (low salt) and popcorn with mixed effect. But I'd like a nicer mix. Granola Bars are starting to wear on me too.
Unsalted almonds and cashews, dried figs/cranberries/apricots/cherries, and kashi bars on the not-refrigerated side and part skim string cheese, yogurt, and grapes in the fridge
I find keeping a variety of stuff around makes me less likely to have a candy/soda craving, I try to have at least one fruit laying about that's ready to eat (apples, pears and bananas are really convenient) but balance that with some protein so I don't get hungry really quickly

Minor addition: I can't have hardwood nuts except for Cashews. They don't digest well. Peanuts and Cashews are okay. I'm just really trying to avoid bread products as well. Crackers are fine to a point.

Sounds like I need to get a bunch of dried fruits and peanuts. Basicaly unmixed, trail mix.
Just make a whole pot once a week, while its still hot/warm roll it into portion sized balls in plastic wrap and freeze - when you need one just defrost the day of or pop it in the microwave for a minute

That sounds amazing, and I do looove me some rice.

I dice up carrots and celery. You can't do the nuts thing so no almond butter but you get the point. Heck, I make a snack of sliced grilled chicken dipped in some awesome Southeast Asian hot sauce.

Noted. Hmmm. That would solve my need for carbs/starches.

On the shelf, canned soup, and microwave popcorn.
