i agree that shit like chicken wing and cammy's hooligan whatever should be just half circles
but crossups were unintentional
so were cancel combos
so were link combos
so were frame traps, and tick throws
so were option selects
so was conc jumping, and bunnyhopping, and pretty much all of the micro in original starcraft
most competitive games are the result of fortunate accidents, mechanically
plus the execution challenge of SF is too deeply embedded. remove it or change it drastically and you will produce an entirely different game - probably a more accessible and perfectly good game, but one that has pretty different challenges and strategies and mechanics in general. i would like to see it, but in the mean time, we have street fighter.
Has anyone who bought that Wal-Mart combo deal tried just instantly returning the SF4 copy for 15 bucks? I haven't received mine yet, but the return policy reads like you should be able to.
A net 15$ SE stick would certainly make the deal even sweeter.

Mostly just blaming Gouken and getting way too angry at the game. solsovly made me less angry, practice and some key breaks made Gouken seem less bad. It worked out well.

I find that all of the stupid things in this game (like mash jab = lolspd'd and kara throws) make it a lot more fun than it would have been otherwise. Yes, it's incredibly hard, but I am a masochist and most enjoy games that force you to sack up or eat it. But of course this also loops back into the problem of blaming my character and getting super mad at my incredibly minor mistakes leading to brutal punishment.

You know what annoys me? When someone knocks me down, goes for a cross-up, and I try and dash under them but the game auto-corrects my dash and I dash back INTO their jump attack.
I really wish dashing was direction-based a la "Dash left" or "Dash right" instead of "Dash toward opponent" and "Dash away from opponent."

I'm exactly like this. I'll play Abel for a long stretch of time, get to around 3k, then start playing all my alts and my player points plummet.
