Does the explorer perk just mark all the locations on your map? Or does it reveal them and allow you to fast travel to all of them?

Because I don't want to take it unless it just marks them and I manually have to walk to them.

Enemies also respawn in NV. In FO3 it was like you were eventually the only living thing left roaming the wastes.

So, my roommate and I are playing the game diligently as a good karma, NCR-lovin, 2nd Amendment person.

    Things are going well.

I want to make my own character, Muttonchops McGee, a pugnacious (Unarmed), transient, homosexual cannibal. I want to play on Hardcore mode.

Any ideas on how I should build that character? What perks should I definitely get (beyond Cannibal, Confirmed Bachelor) and what should my SPECIAL be? Anything I should know? I have not played hardcore mode at all, and my Fallout 3 characters were all Energy Weapons or Small Guns based.

Having a high endurance allows you to improve your other special stats later on, so don't use endurance as a dump stat if that has been your practice in previous fallouts.

Just blew up 6 of Kai-sars legion with plasma spas. They were all bunched up coming out of a building, crit shot to the dome of the first guy, he explodes killing another, then chain reaction they blow up sky high. I am still finding chunks of them in the oddest places around the camp. When they blow up, they really blow up.

The regen isn't "rapid" at all. It takes like a minute to regen one tick of health for me. Well, maybe not a minute, but it sure isn't very quick.

Yeah. The regen is more "Oh, I save money on food and stimpacks" and less "Grr, I'm Wolverine."

Which...isn't all that great for 12k, especially when that 12k could just be spend on stimpacks.

Not to mention with the casinos, savaging, and caravan, you're probably never be short for cash.

What's the ideal SPECIAL layout for unarmed, then? And how soon can you get implants (if you really try and also I don't care about spoilers)?

Regeneration might be useful in Hardcore mode. Does food still heal you in Hardcore mode? I am going to be eating people, ghouls and super mutants.

Regen implant's +1 health per 10 seconds. Not all that useful in fights, especially compared to having 12k to spend on stimpacks. I just want every little edge, also will be nice to rarely require a doctor visit.

I'd recommend 9 endurance, 9 int, 9 strength for your gay transient pugilist. You'll hit hard, soak damage well, and have lots of skill points for whatever else you want to do. Can also get every implant.

I don't think luck, cha, perception or agility will be very useful for you.

Unless you want to focus on crits? Then rearrange stats to have 5 base perception and at least 5 base luck to qualify for the crit perks (after the perception/luck implants bump you to 6/6).

Should I feel like a terrible person for clearing out the entire Van Graffs energy weapons by picking them up manually, running to the bathroom, stealthing and then taking them? I mean, they get upset if I pick it up off the bench, but taking it for a walk before it disappears is apparently okay.

It feels like cheating when you do that. They really need someone to check your stuff when you go to the can. But on the otherhand, they don't sell any of those fantastic weapons that they have lying around.

I have a gamebreaking bug going on.

    Rex has vanished for me.

I am trying to enter Ceaser's tent, but the guard keeps telling "You must enter Ceaser's tent alone. Anyone else must wait outside"

But I can't tell Rex to wait outside, because he isn't fucking there.

    [EDIT] Anyone got a solution?

Oh, I like the enemy respawns. I was just adding to the "There's still stuff to do" thing. I don't see why a mod like that would even exist.

Do the Deathclaws respawn at Quarry Junction? They don't scare me anymore since I discovered Boone brand Deathclaw repellant.

If you're curious about what each one does...
The dog brain from Old Lady Gibson increases Rex's damage. The Fiend brain increases Rex's speed. The Legion dog brain gives Rex more HP (or raise his DT, I forget which).

For implants I would aim for getting a natural 8 in endurance (since the +1 endurance from an implant doesn't let you get another implant) and get the 7 SPECIAL implants + the iron skin if you are really min/maxing. I've been side questing like mad - I still haven't go into the strip and I'm level 26 with science, lockpicking, repair, guns, energy weapons and explosives all at or near max. Munchkin hoooooo.
