for me, its one of those games i might play if a) my cousin brings it over or b) it gets really cheap on the pc... but other than that I really don't care about a game that's purpose is essentially team death match.
I would buy the Special Edition Half Life Ep 3. That is my all time favorite shooter. The ending surprised me, I was ready to kick butt in a fit of anger... then it just ends....
So guys. Penny Farthing Press expressed an interest in publishing Next Town Over as a webcomic, eventually collecting it into a TPB down the road. Thing is, they like to split project ownership 50/50. Obviously they have more resources than I do solo for finding and retaining an audience, but the forfeiture of creator ownership when I could just be running ComicPress over another WordPress install by myself....? It seems blurgh. What do you guys think?

most companies use temp agencies for the ability to get rid of people who cause problems, usually its a 3-6 month probationary period where they watch to see if you are late, hung over, naked, or displaying other poor business habits at work.
So happy to hear that, DDV! The only (obvious) advice I can give, since it's through a temp, is to just work your ass off. That's how I got hired at eBay; started out as a temp thing. They usually work people on temp contracts for something like three to six months in order to separate the wheat from the chaff, and if you're left looking impressive at the end, they'll hire you on.
But I not to get ahead of things, for now, congrats on getting past the first biggest hurdle. A second interview is always great!

Yeah, I don't know about that. The only benefit they are offering you is the collect your work in a printed trade, but that's "down the road." You could just retain full rights to your work by publishing online yourself and by time you get "down the road" you might have better offers coming in regards to a print deal.
I would pass on their offer, unless you can get them to agree to a better split in your favor.
Also I found my camera today. Luck is smiling on me.
I probably look like an asshole for rushing to judgement where my mom is concerned but...well, she's always been a fucking thief. It wasn't much of a stretch.

That would be.... acceptable.
What commercial is that?
also the surprise commercial

It ran during nearly every ad segment last week during Daily Show and Colbert about. It's not so bad until you see it 20 times.
At least until Bioshock Infinite comes out.
It's really not that bad of a game at all.
There! Fixed that for you.
I kind of agree. L4d 2 has been my poison of choice since it came out last year.
These days the only multiplayer games I play are fighting games anyways.

Side and front and back
My first interview went swimmingly. I've got another one Thursday. If THAT one goes well, I start Monday.
I'll be making ~27,000/yr + benefits (medical/dental/tuition reimbursement)
You guys have no idea how stoked I am.
Man. What a huge, enormous load off.
If I get it.
I'm pretty sure I'll get it.

Design wise, in the US is this a lot of money or is this entry level? I only know about design salaries in PR, never in the U.S.
Thanks for your thoughts, everyone. You pretty much just confirmed everything I was already thinking.
In other news ... grats, DDV!
I think it's fairly entry level. It's less than double the minimum wage and just under three times the poverty threshold.

Actually, I don't think its a bad idea. Think of it sort of as a stepping stone to greater things.
That or if this is your one true project, offer to develop something new for them.
