And Rorus put a lot of effort into this informative post, so I'm going to copy it over here:
Don't get too attached to this special 4.0 chat thread, as DeathMunkus could very well rise from the depths to shatter this thread and remake it in his own glorious image.
Are you secretly part of the Twilight's Beaver Cult?
Oh, and I would never forget about his partner-in-crime, Echo'gall.

In celebration of the new expansion Cataclysm, Moderators will choose a random page in the chat thread and ban every poster on that page once per day.
How long will this be going on? Is this some plot to reduce the number of overall posts? Did Kotick put you up to this?!

It will be a temporary event so there will be an achievement of strength* to go along with it.

Software houses sometimes reserve even numbers for internal builds/testing/experimental branches and odd for published branches or mainline or vice versa. Not clue about Blizzards internal development tho. It's entirely possible they do it that way because they hate even numbers more than odder ones.
Well, I had a really weird and frustrating bug happen to me when I was questing with my lowbie mage. I decided I wanted to level before I flew to Exodar for a quest so I went about killing stuff in the area, and wander a little ways away from Blood Watch.
So then, I decide to go back, so I look at map to see where I am relative to Blood Watch---according to my map I'm NW of Blood Watch, so I try to head SE in order to get there. But when I get near what should be the "edge" of BW, I run into a big body of water----I don't remember running across a body of water so I dive in anyways. Soon enough my area gets changed to "The Veiled Sea" and I'm puzzled by this, but I keep on wandering around trying to figure out where I'm going wrong.
Finally, I decide to logout just beside the big body of water, turn off all my addons, and log back in. When I get back in, my map shows me at the far edge of the map, far SE of where it was showing me before the relog. I then find BW easily.
The biggest thing is the weapon, because it boost your damage a ridiculous amount if it's enchanted. It practically doubles your damage. And having tons of mana for a caster is awesome.
Yeah it really is all about the weapon. There's little, if anything, that you'll ever find from 1-80 that will be as high damage, or stats, as the heirloom weapons, unless you get it way early. Even crap like the weapon rewards from the "arena" quests in Nagrand and Zul'drak, are weaker by a good bit, than the heirlooms, by the time you're high enough level to accept the quests.
The shoulders/chest are nice for the bonus XP, and the trinkets are nice for low levels till you start getting trinkets that aren't total shit from quest rewards in Outland/Northrend; but neither make a huge difference, compared to the weapon for speed of leveling.
Also, rest XP makes leveling an alt a night and day experience. I can hardly level a character anymore unless they have full rest. I will shelf them for a week at a time to get it too.
I actually prefer sometimes to only use the weapon and trinkets for an alt; there's a certain joy in getting new gear for the while leveling. And especially seeing new shoulders once in a while, because there's some cool ones in the game.
It was very recently brought to my attention that DKs could use heirloom weapons with runeforging. If only I had known about that before I hit level 79.
My real issue (and understand that this is at an extremely low level) has been that a couple adds means pretty certain death due to the longish cooldown on Frost Nova before you have other escape options like Polymorph or Blink.
Not that it's a big deal considering these levels aren't going to last any time at all, but still....
So now we're getting 4.0.3, which is likely going to sync us up closer with beta and have all the new zone data. But, 4.0.3a is when the ACTUAL shattering occurs. I don't know which patch race combos and the like are attached to.
Oh, and now the flying license is linked to launch for some arbitrary reason. Don't be shocked if we get dicked on new race combos in a similar fashion.

I wonder how the infraction will be called...
failure to adequately die in a fire
Because it wants to. Things don't have to go in order, it just makes good sense to do it that way.
Versioning is pretty arbitrary anyway.
What irritates me is how many people in my shop insist that in versioning, 1.0.2 comes AFTER 1.0.19, for example.

What's with the green textures? I tried using the repair tool, but that didn't do anything.
Thoughts?
Not till December 7th with cata on your account, no. Not even when 4.0.3 comes live with the new world.

That's my WoW Chat thread for 2010. I seem to make one every year.
I really need one to track the 25 Sindragosa one.
I mean, it's ultimately not *that* difficult or anything, but the dropoff without heirlooms is tremendous.

Do you play in Windowed-Maximized mode or Fullscreen?

ahahahahaha
Fullscreen.
But dunno how many beta players we've got, we should try to get together on the same server and take a swing at Blackwing Descent or something.
I was suggesting Alliance on Gilneas. (Mostly since that's where my stuff is, and I've got officership on a level 25 guild on my paladin.)
If we want to jump in the /pennyarcade channel, I could watch and hit people with invites.
