Anyon know of a decent tanking weapon for mid 70s?
I've been using the Savage Cobalt Slicer after I got rid of my Crystalline Kopesh but I stupidly didn't clock the speed and it's just so horrendously slow I daren't instance with it.
Are you playing a paladin or warrior?
Actually, I think in either case, you want a slow tank weapon now. With HS being an instant now, there are no benefits to a fast weapon for a warrior other than slightly smoother rage generation, but there are one or two attacks that do more damage with slow weapons.
Similarly for paladins, CS (and I think HotR) does more damage with a slow weapon.
Note: wowhead has been a bit buggy for me today, but I believe the comments section should list all the drops for each boss if the actually "Drops" section is imcomplete/gone.
EDIT: No Dwarf Shaman yet.

Got the deathshroud, so I now have everything I want from the event. Now I just want the achievement for closing the rifts but IF is bugged and no rifts form. I guess I could go camp spots in northrend for the 2 that I need but I will probably just wait and see if blizzard fixes it before the shattering.

You don't need to do level-appropriate rifts for the Feat of Strength, just for the daily quest that you get for closing one of them.

Haha, Blizzard fixing it.. good one! It's busted on my server as well so I suspect the event itself is busted and it's not just a server-related thing. Which means it probably won't be fixed unless they can actually hotfix it (or I suppose if 4.0.3 magically fixes it).
But yeah, I did all of mine in Outland on the first day and got the Feat, no problem. Outland is nice because there was no real competition (everyone was in Northrend). Plus the two you need (Earth and Fire) are close to zone-in areas - Fire is in Hellfire and Earth is in Blade's Edge (may also be in Shadowmoon and Nagrand respectively, can't remember). They are a pretty close fly from either Shattrath or the portal (two I used are that Hellfire ruins area about 90 degrees from the BE and Draenei towns, and the Blade's Edge Mok'Nathal village which is just north of that).

I'm finding this event really lackluster. Closing all of the city rifts just seems incredibly boring and spammy, and the bosses seem to be the exact same. I also find myself highly disappointed that all the bosses drop is some loot that will be outdated in a couple of weeks. Really I just wish they'd put something cool in like a rare tabard or a pet maybe. Something you can show off like the guitar axe from the WotLK event, or the tabard from the TBC event.

Oh, on the subject of pre-Cataclysm events I just read The Shattering today. It's the only WoW (or computer game) book I've read and it was pretty fun; it's a light read (took me an afternoon and my English needs work) but there are some good character moments and it really sets the scene for what's to come.
I read the one I got free with my vanilla copy... The one about the first invasion of the burning legion. It tells a good story, but the writing is terrible - so I just read about all the events on wowpedia.

Remember when having a dragon mount was so cool that you did a month of shitty, bugged dailies for one?
Wasn't too bad. All that I did was buy that egg every day from the Oracles, and after a week of doing that, zing, my very own butt-ugly, fast-flying dragon.
For a while now, whenever I've let it go and do it's loooong download thing, it reports "Lost connection with downloader." I never really bothered with it, as it was only a back up of the big patch, right?
Well, now I'm trying to download 4.0.3 and the launcher is freaking out, telling me my install is broken and I should run Repair.
Well, Repair reports that there's nothing wrong. I can't get the Downloader or Updater to run, as they say there's nothing to download/update.
What should I do?

Ran Wow.exe and updated that way, Launcher seems to be updating normally now.

I had a similarish problem, I had to uncheck some stuff under...
Control Panel -> Network / Internet -> Internet -> Connections -> Lan Settings.
Unchecked everything on the Lan Settings Page and I was good to go!
So how geared should one be before joining heroics? I hit 80 a few days ago and have been getting some nice loots from the trial of champions and the event elemental bosses but I have no idea what I should be shooting for before jumping in heroics.
We just did gunship on 25man hard just fine aside from still being in combat after we had docked with Saurfang's platform.
But someone mentioned how they tried doing it on an alt earlier on 10man and they couldn't do it at all.

So when 4.0.3a hits, can we visit the new zones? Thinking I can discover the new Five-Man locations so I'll be ready a week after launch while blizzard works the bugs and kinks out of the launch.

And it's made worse because Lil'Ragnaros would have been a perfect anniversary pet since Cata's coming and he'll be a raid boss again, but instead they're putting him in the store and charging $15 or whatever for him.

My pally is rocking a haunted memento and the Argent Dawn tabard from the pre Wrath event and a bunch have bat pets, shame none of my characters will have anything to show for having been around to see the current pre cata event.
Part of me hopes that they've just de-emphasized all that stuff in favor of making a lot more cool things in cataclysm.
The other part of me thinks that they've realized that not that many people care about that stuff, and for those that do it's not having a determinative impact on whether they stay subscribed or not.
If they do anything really interesting and different in terms of an event (see: zombie plague), half the playerbase hates it because they just want to log in and check their auctions like they always do and not be challenged that much, and people probably aren't coming back/staying with the game in these lull periods for the sake of those things anyway.

You can visit the new 1-60 zones but not the new 80-85 zones.
How are they making the new-to-Cata zones inaccessible? For instance, Twilight Highlands. You could walk into it from Wetlands, you could swim around to it from the north or the south, but is there an invisible wall stopping you, or an instance portal you run into like the one between Ghostlands and EPL?
Speaking of which, is that Ghostlands portal even still there in Cata?
I always just figured you could get to the 80-85 zones with just WotLK, but it wouldn't do you much good unless you had Cata already to level up to 85 and not get squashed in them.
The blue edited his post to say "Onyxian Whelpling" instead of referencing the bear, but then edited it again to just say (roughly) "No new pet this year, we're reserving that for notable milestones."
I don't like the fact that the Feat is awarded starting on the 30th. I may be looking into it too much, but it's weird they award it a week after the actual date.
