I picked up Teen Titans for the first time ever today, the guy I buy from highly recomended it as it was the first issue of his favorite writer's run on the series (J.T. Krul). It's pretty good, the focus is a bit too much on the whole Cassie/Connor relationship, but it seems that particular arc may be coming to an end soon, but that's beside the point. The moment of the week actually has nothing to do with the Titans though (yet) and everything to do with Damien Wayne.
An alarm goes off while Wonder Girl and the animal shapeshifter-guy are wondering how wise it was to include Ravager onto the current team roster, they all run into the conference room and find this:
Now I'll probably have to start picking up this book now. Dangit. But, potentially awesome as well.
If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten in your presence.

The whole series has been a great look into Luthor's character, and things are getting really interesting if Luthor's right and he is tied in to something so important that forces of the universe are checking in on him.
and from the Jimmy Olsen backup:
"I'm about to get real boring with it."
his favorite writer is JT Krul?
what?
don't listen to this guy anymore (although I haven't read Teen Titans yet)
When the space-wrestler appears in the ring and his robot assistant says how he's the greatest wrestler in the universe, and will challenge anyone on Earth, Deadpool says "Didn't I see this guy on an episode fo Dexter's Lab?". Which is EXACTLY what I was thinking at that moment.
(Meaning, the Rasslor episode of the "Dial 'M' for Monkey" segment of Dexter's Laboratory.)
Weren't Sterling Gates's first few projects pretty dismal? And now he is awesome. Maybe the same will happen with Krul.
Edit: Of course I won't be buying this book, but I will be listening closely to people who are!
The PA actually walk around town stopping crime, and get rewarded with treats. And the cops just allow it, a pet super hero team.
Gates didn't do much before Supergirl, mostly short stories in Tales of the Sinestro Corps anthologies, or a couple GLC issues.
Mostly because Nicola Scott is amazing, but the characters were spot-on (mostly) and it addressed past events.
plus i can't hate Damian ever
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
Hellboy/Beasts of Burden wins the week for me - terrific, beautiful book all around.
Motherfuck it
Bendis is the best Spider-Man writer ever. And the Ultimate Universe only exists in the form of Ultimate Spider-Man these days. That is it, and nothing else. Why can't they let you on 616 Spider-Man Bendis? Whyyyyyyyyy???
Because then he couldn't do the things he can do with Ultimate Spider-Man
He could do some good stuff though. And I would like it more because I prefer 616 over Ultimate most of the time (though I'll admit things like Ultimate Aunt May are way better).
Yeah, I think that would be great. I never really got the idea he was behind it to be honest.
I don't know, he's big in the creative aspect of the company but he's not really an editor, and he likes to write a lot of stuff, which the EiC can't really do. Guys like Claremont were incredibly prolific and important but they never became EiCs either. Not saying it won't or shouldn't happen just that I don't see it being something that's destined to come about.
It also exists in that Enemy/Mystery/Doom thing he's doing.
I'm hoping UCSM and the Ultimate E/M/D series will start to reference each other pretty soon. Not direct crossovers mind you.
