I started watching Mad Men a few months ago. Turns out it's pretty good!
Also, I didn't see a single rated R movie until I was about 18 or 19, so I missed out on a lot of awesome movies for a long time.

I watched a few episodes of Arrested Development a few months ago. It was fairly good, but I haven't had any kind of driving urge to go back and watch some more. Not really my style of humor. I can only take so much awkward comedy, if that's the right thing to call it.
I knew about Don't Stop Believing before I knew the band who sang it.
It was only in high school when my teacher said "I hate Jouney" that I went online to find out why. Then I found out he was a bad teacher.

I jumped on the Scott Pilgrim bandwagon between books 5 and 6. I also only got into Avatar in the middle of Season 3. It made waiting for the conclusions of both nearly unbearable considering I marathoned the shit out of both in like a day each.

I didn't get into Scott Pilgrim until the train ride to PAX. I proceeded to marathon them.
I watched the entirety of the first five seasons of Lost in two or three weeks over winter break, then had to wait a month for season six.

Neither the whole of truth nor the whole of good is revealed to any single observer, although each observer gains a partial superiority of insight from the peculiar position in which he stands. It is enough to ask of each of us that he should be faithful to his own opportunities and make the most of his own blessings, without presuming to regulate the rest of the vast field.
Then I finally played it and found out it was shit so it wasn't so bad.
I really liked God of War but it's dated. God of War II I had to force myself to finish. God of War III is pretty good, but it won't change your opinion on the series if you just don't like that style of gameplay.
The best example for me was Bloc Party. Their debut album came out and everyone was shitting themselves about how good Bloc Party was so I downloaded the album. Listened to the first track and thought "meh, this is alright" and let it sit for about 2 years. Randomly listened to This Modern Love one day and realized Bloc Party's debut album was the shit.

I could've sworn you already played it. Heck I thought you even made threads about it.
I'd tried playing it twice before and always got distracted before I got very far.
For example that thread I made about it, was like 2 weeks before Mass Effect 2 came out, as soon as it did I stopped playing FO3 and didn't pick it up again until a couple weeks ago.
I'm making progress now though! I'm done the main quest up through The Waters of Life - finished The Replicated Man, Stealing Independence, Blood Ties, and all of The Pitt.

Arrested Development is not awkward comedy at all. It's characters being hilarious comedy as well as subtle dirty comedy. Also, it takes a few episodes before the show gets into its groove (which then lasts until the show ends).
What I'm getting at is, everyone should watch Arrested Development in its entirety. This is a fact.
MST3k. Man somebody needs to play reruns of that show, like every now and then instead of Skeeters 3: The Bloodening, a sci fi channel can play a MST3k
The Sci-fi channel should start hiring them to come in and rip on their Sci-fi originals.

I find the controls just really, bad. I liked the Wolverine game which I was told was a God of War clone, so I was actually a little disappointed I didn't like it.

It's funny the whole way through, but I'd say there's a pretty noticeable shift in tone, which starts to take place somewhere near the end of season 2. Things become a lot more goofy and out there. Early on it's wacky characters dealing with normal situations. Later on it's wacky characters dealing with wacky situations
stuff like the Rita storyline or Maeby's job or the Richter quadruplets
I'm extremely late late with all TV shows, movies and music. I just play far too many games to have time for all that. My most recent "holy shit this is great why haven't I seen this yet" moment is Dr. Who.
As for games, I just now discovered Viewtiful Joe even though I've known about it since it came out. Even worse, it took me until a few months ago to realize that the SNES Donkey Kong Country series is actually pretty damn good. Also, Portal.
Fallout 3 is probably going to be my next one, though this is more deliberate on my part. I hate dealing with DLC, so I was waiting for the price on the Game of the Year edition to drop a bit. Now it looks like they've got even more stuff for it, so I'll just wait until I'm done with everything else I need to play and get whatever the latest disk version is when I come to it.
