to the point where if I play Viewtiful Joe a lot and then try to play smash bros, I fuck up constantly because I'm trying to hit Y and X to attack and A to jump
That reminds me, there's a PS2 game called Kessen that I've had for years and just never got around to trying. I don't even remember why I own it. If anyone knows what it is and would like to vouch for it I might try it out tonight.
I've also had the new Kirby since it came out, but my wife hasn't been in the mood to play it with me yet and I can't start without her.

If I remember correctly Kessen is a weird strategy game hybrid thing based on dynasty warriors style battles
it's rad

I'm extremely late late with all TV shows, movies and music. I just play far too many games to have time for all that. My most recent "holy shit this is great why haven't I seen this yet" moment is Dr. Who.
As for games, I just now discovered Viewtiful Joe even though I've known about it since it came out. Even worse, it took me until a few months ago to realize that the SNES Donkey Kong Country series is actually pretty damn good. Also, Portal.
Fallout 3 is probably going to be my next one, though this is more deliberate on my part. I hate dealing with DLC, so I was waiting for the price on the Game of the Year edition to drop a bit. Now it looks like they've got even more stuff for it, so I'll just wait until I'm done with everything else I need to play and get whatever the latest disk version is when I come to it.
There is no more new stuff for FO3, Mothership Zeta was the final DLC for it.

Kessen is most definitely rad. It's a tactical strategy dealy where you place armies on a map and then have them battle. It was a weird thing too where the first one was the best, at least in my opinion. It's worth a play-through for sure.
I just started playing valkyria chronicles one and goddamnit, who the hell puts an invincible, fast, one hit kill enemy in a game?
All my infantry is dying left and right and there ain't shit I can't do about it and without any engineers that can repair my tank it will die because my tank can't get to the guy who is shooting at it because of this big tank here that is blocking my progress and I can't kill it without getting it to use its main cannon to expose the weakpoints but it isn't using that goddamned cannon what the fuck is this shit.
Fuck.
Taking a break from vidyagames. At least infuriating vidyagames.

Wasnt until this past summer that I marathoned the entire series on Netflix.
Also most 360 games these days, since I rarely have time to play video games like I use to. So unless I'm given it as a gift I'm waiting until it hits the $20 mark.

This is the one mission that either makes you quit the game or turns you into a champ
Restart the mission and realize that the lady is going to appear in the same spot
adjust strategy accordingly

Do you mean when the huge tank itself is in the same spot or when I've got two of those heatsinks destroyed?
I think it's when it passes that first wall maybe? It has been a long while
The main thing I remember is using the Edelweiss to shield your troops from crazy laser lady, and having scouts tucked into hiding ahead of the tanks path where they can easily reach the radiators as the tank progresses
But it really is worth it to get past this admittedly ridiculous mission, the game only gets better from there

Okay, any advise as to dealing with Jager the second time around would be very much appreciated.
And those utterly ridiculous extra hard battles are optional, right?
Thief 3. Did my first run through the Shalebridge Cradle last night -- Halloween night -- with all the lights out.
The Half-Life series. I tried HL2 once, but was put off by the motion sickness thing. Tried HL1 because it was on sale sometime this past year, then quickly devoured the whole series.
Battlestar Galactica. I bought the first 3 seasons while I was abroad one summer and needed something to do at night. Finished them in time to buy 4.0 and watch it leading up to 4.5 being aired.
I started as a temple knight so that's been covered, but even stupid stuff like when do I get to go to the Nexus to cash in souls? Just in between areas? AND CAN I PLEASE HAVE MY BODY BACK, THIS HALVED HP IS FOR THE BIRDS.

Get the cling ring, you only lose 25% that way.
Also try not to get too stressed about souls. There will be more. Unless you are farming up your stats. Then you do a run and get back and cash in.
I'm not really stressed about souls, I've (so far) been able to get them back when I've died, but I'm so early in the game that I literally don't know how you get back to the Nexus to cash in, does it just happen automatically? I like that the game's obtuse but they could at least tell me that. I'll remember the thing about the cling ring, thanks.
You cash in souls by buying stuff, repairing stuff and upping skills or learning magics. There is no soul bank to save them in, so I usually use 'em up as soon as I can.

Then you're doing it wrong. Viewtiful Joe is one of my favorite games.

there are when you have had the same phone for three years and been on the same plan for uh, let's see here
eight years?
I got one without it because the plan I am on charged me $1.50 every time I sent or received a text

Tight gunplay in there. Still pretty, too. Repetitive as fuck levels. Offices and maintenance corridors yay.

Need to do a New Game + sometime soon

Are scouts more effective?
I'll give it a go in a couple of hours.
Season 2 finale is the best season finale of pretty much any show ever.
