I'm about to head out to do some errands and was going to pick up a gamepad for my PC. I was first going to get a wireless adapter for my 360 controllers, but it was the same price as the regular wired 360 controller so I leaned that way. THEN I saw that there was a "360 Controller For Windows" that was about 8 dollars more than the other two.
Is there a difference between the one for windows and the one just for a normal 360? Its all usb, right?
The wired controller is the same. However, the wireless versions are different. The wireless 360 console pad is just the controller, but the wireless PC version comes with a usb cord wireless receiver.
Worth noting, as it pops up every now and then (and even though I realise that you didn't ask this it may be useful for others): a Play and Charge USB cable does NOT make your controller work with a PC, as the cable only provides power and not data. If you want a wireless controller to work, you need the wireless receiver mentioned above.

I think they stopped making the wired usb controllers. Also I have heard about driver conflicts for the wireless dongle for the pc depending on what version of windows you're using so I would look into that before you buy.
