Hey H/A,

My father recently lost his job and eventually wont meet EI requirements. With that said, I need some way of keeping a budget and measuring expenses so that I can see where we're spending too much money. I live in Canada but I'm not sure what's available here.

Thanks,

An excel sheet is probably the best thing you can do for yourself. Its all pretty straightforward.

I use mint.com and it owns. Don't know about the Canada thing though.

Mint.com claims their bank aggregation does work in Canada, and I'd highly recommend them as well.

I didn't realize Mint worked in Canada now. They haven't had any security troubles as of yet?

It might not be what you're looking for since it doesn't plug itself directly to your bank accounts but it's a pretty cool website. They're still in beta but so far it's pretty solid.

I know the guys who developed it (I went to university with one of them) and they are super cool dudes who have put a lot of time and sweat into it. Give it a whirl, it's free!
