Japanese Subtitles, impossible to find?

So me and my girlfriend would like to watch some movies, but she'd rather have them show up with Japanese subtitles. Obviously, all movies I can get down here only have english-spanish-portuguese subtitles, so I said to myself, "I can just play the movie on VLC and download the Japanese subtitles"

But nope, I can't seem to find subtitles for ANY movie, I spent almost an hour searching for Japanese subtitles for the Back to the Future trilogy, and for Toy Story 3.

I just keep ending up in the same subtitles sites which don't have any Japanese subtitles, and even searching for "日本語" "字幕" "Toy Story 3" on Google doesn't yield any good results, I just find Chinese sites that let me stream the movie for free with terrible quality (And Chinese subtitles)

Anyone know of a good, most probably Japanese, subtitles site with what I need? Thanks!

You probably need to install VOB Sub in order to actually be able to load the file once you find it.

Try with this for Toy Story:

    http://subscene.com/japanese/Toy-Story-3/subtitle-355306.aspx

Warning: Keep in mind this is what I found doing a google search.

So to make sure I got this right--->

    American Movie w/ Japanese subs?

If that's the case only a rare handful released here in the US or in any English speaking area have them. You might have better luck importing from AUX or looking for a Hawaiian vendor. But odds are the only ones are going to have Chinese varients. Region locked, etc, etc.

Yeah that's the problem, all my stuff only has the typical subs, and it's just silly having to import (Price and shipping times-wise) a movie I already own just for the subtitles.

Fantasma, thanks, I used that site to search for the Back to the Future subs and since they didn't show up I guess I didn't search for Toy Story either, thanks!

Is your girlfriend Japanese? Just convince her that it's in her best interest not to rely on Japanese subtitles and get used to English.

If she's just learning Japanese, import 邦画 and just watch that.
