Stitching video segments together?

I have multiple segments from two movies, one in .wmv form and one in .mpg form.
Instead of a billion segments, i'd like to "stitch" all the segments into one .wmv and one .mpg.

Are there any free programs or applications that can take these segments and combine them into one movie? Keep in mind I have no experience what-so-ever in video editing, and am barely smarter than a cucumber.
I'd be using a PC, running WinXP.

Thanks for any advice.

Using the right codecs and plugins you can do this using TMGEnc:

I would just use Windows Movie Maker then. There are better video editors out there, but for simple stitching together and for those who aren't the best with computers, Windows Movie Maker works well enough.

Easier said than done, the OP will have to re-encode the videos to attach them. There are other tricks, but I have no time to explain and post tutorials.

In any case, he can just go to www.videohelp.com to educate himself, he is headed for a bumpy road.

Oh yeah I hadn't considered the re-encoding process.

If you still want to go with the ease of Windows Movie Maker, I would then use a program called Any Video Converter to convert the videos to a single format, stitch together, then use the program to again convert the final file to whatever types you need.

But yeah, if that sounds too complicated, you would do well to go to the site Fantasma listed above.
