Last reminder, and activity update. Looks like Four Swords upstairs on the small screen, and Tales of Vesperia on the big screen with some scattered ChuChu Rocket. Also, smores.
Please note that GW and I are hosting another game day at our house, on Jan 29, 3pm... This is cross posted from the meetup group:
Okay, so we know for sure that my mother in law is going to be gone by this day... Not that there's anything wrong with her, we actually have a good relationship. It's just that if she's here, I can't game with you people... So here's the thing.
We are going to play four swords adventures! You know, that game on GameCube where you need four GBAs and link cables and shit? Yeah, that's the one.
You are going to come over here, and we are going to play through as much of this game as humanly possible, earning force gems, working together, throwing each other down pits, and shit. Should be good...
So dust off your GBA and bring it! Let me know if you're bringing your GBA or if you're just mooching off of those of us who can't bear to get rid of anything. Ditto for game link cables, as I have two GBAs and three link cables. If Taylor comes, we're good for link cables, but still short for GBAs.
Of course there will be the usual Halo/RockBand/Fighting Games and what not... As well as board games.
OH! Right, and a word to the wise: This is a potluck function, which means if you want to come, then you have to bring something. If you cant' cook, buy something. Post what you're bringing here, so we don't get six loaves of garlic bread and a fourpack of strongbow. That's weak.

Absinthe is bringing garlic bread
Small is with bread and cheese
Worm is TBD
Trotsky is bringing some kind of dessert. sounds sketchy.

Everyone else, RSVP, dammit!
To be clear I was being a smart ass and intend on bringing more food like items. I'm gonna either grab a pre-made platter o stuff from the grocery store on the way there or I can make or bring an extra dessert. Your choice.
Add Jess and Dave to the guestlist.... neither one has an actual nickname yet, in the interim you can put them in as Mudkip and Pikey respectively.
I'll add a link to your guestlist from the OP later today (when I am not posting from my backberry) since your post has now gotten a little buried.
Also, you have made a reservation this time right? ;-)
No! i'm out of town. and we still don't have firm numbers. I plan on texting you friday morning and telling you to do it :P
Good luck with that, lol. Friday morning will be too late for a group this size.
So I like DMs vote for The Mechanic for the bad movie if we do one.... Alternatively The Rio is playing Rocky Horror at midnight, which may require a lot more fishbowls to go to. lol.

Re reading that, I didn't notice that there was a choice in there for me... I say.... Platter o'stuff. Please.
as of now, fogg n sudds is now full!!! Absin managed to get us a reservation after promising the manager the most disgusting sexual favours you can think of.
thanks absin for taking one for the team! ^5

Hey D, Im in.

Two things to mention after speaking with the manager:
1) They are expecting to be very busy and will not hold the full reservation if a lot of people are late.
Effiectively if you are one of those people who figures you can roll in a little later and everyone else will be able to hold the table.... keep in mind that there are probably a dozen other people who might be thinking the same thing so please don't.
If tonight's movie choice is the mechanic we will need to get tickets in advance. It opens tonight and will probably be full of bros. alternatively, the green hornet has been out for a bit but I think Seth rogan is a douchebag and don't want to see it. anyways, we should pick soon.
I'm not gonna go to a movie. I am morally opposed to paying for bad movies. Or at least paying for movies which I'm going to on the basis that they're going to be bad. It just encourages Hollywood to keep making them.
Whether or not that means I stay at Fogg'n'suds later or just go home, I haven't decided yet.
I enjoyed Green Hornet, actually. Except for its "3d" which was 3 dollars for 3d previews and credits.
Agreed.
Also I think the Mechanic may be getting closer to Machette. The latter was fun to see as it was intended for that purpose and they should make more movies like that. Mechanic will be a derived mindless action film, that with a little booze might be pretty entertaining.
That being said I am also fine with skipping a bad movie and just hanging out at F'N Suds.
I won't be attending the movie, as I've decided to drive back to Seattle late tonight, and the movie would make me tired. I still plan to show up for drinking.

So are we deciding on no movie then? I would be ok with that. Perhaps we can restrict bad movie viewings to places where we can watch them for free.
Or just restrict the ones in theatres to movies like Machete that make the term bad, good or stuff we all actually want to see like Tron.
And no more paying to watch stupid kid-wizards camping for over two hours. *grumble*
The Rio also always has their Friday night movies, so if anything we can start catching their midnight showings of 'classic' cinema for $8.00 when the mood strikes us following Fishbowl nights.
On that thought, on Sunday February 20 they are showing Evil Dead I & II and Army of Darkness back to back starting at 4:30.

... isn't that like.. bad?
Ok, let me clarify. I'm having A (1) drink, with my dinner. Not drinking like "oh god, my liver". :-P
My thoughts are we could go out for dinner on Saturday March 5th. but I'm hoping some of you could make some suggestions.. do we want to do wings or something else a little nicer?
This is of course open to all paxers, and not just the ones who happen to be going to East this year :P

I'll be putting together a Pre-PAX East FTWings night on Tuesday March 8th... the day before DM, Thermos, Lunchbox and I (and Trotsky dammit, you know you're coming! ) are flying out. I'm waiting to hear back from one of the owners on getting a special rate or deal this time around. Be patient things are in the works.
Most of that same group will probably also be doing a Pre-PAX dinner on the 5th, 6th or 7th.... but it would be in Portland cuz we will be there that weekend. I beleive we are taking Lunchbox to the steakhouse that also has strippers.... because apparently in Portland everything also comes with strippers. O_o

Is the Feb 11 fishbowls just a 'let's get drank' night, or were there additional plans?
why would anybody from Vancouver be going to PAX East?! We all just went to real PAX!
I actually would like to see the mechanic, so if others are down with that, awesome.
Math.

Also we are all Enforcers (and SmallLady) so we are all bloody crazy people anyway.
