But it's not too much of a stretch to make Venom just be some designer drug that acts like a steroid and can reduce pain/cause aggressive tendencies.
Yeah, that is really the best route for the venom drug.
Also, with Bane, we will finally have a great physical confration for Batman. He's never had any villians in the Nolan movies that pose a physical challange.
Edit: Except for Ra's, but that fight scene was really muddled.
I hope that they actually play up Bane being you know, smart, the guy is suppose to be a superior strategist but most of the times even in the comics they write him as some big strong guy and that's it. There is much more depth to him then people give credit for.

This. Even in the 90's glut of extreme villains, Bane was different as being smart first, then venom-addicted possible half brother to Bruce Wayne.
Anne Hathaway as Catwoman can work, although I can see the character being less flipping around lasers and being more along the lines of TV show Batman with her sexiness.
That's pretty awesome. As Cade mentioned Bane doesn't get enough respect. I'm optimistic the movie will be able do a good job with him. I kind of hope that this movie pushes a bit more towards the fantastic to kind of open the door for something different from the next team to do a Batman movie.

If you want a great Bane character, then you need to read Secret Six.
I haven't read it for the last year and yes I love me some Secret Six but at the same time Bane was still not portrayed as he should be, mind you it was a great step up then how he has been treated most of the time but the guy is suppose to be a tough as nails very intelligent man that was able to deduce who Batman was and then bring him down. He was so educated that even Ra's under estimated him which Bane used to his advantage. Him being a strong man is just one aspect of his character.
Considering that Batman is the hunted I get the feeling Bane will be hired to more or less take him down in this movie, considering the last two movies I'm sure they'll do him justice and not just make him a venom junkie.

Is Nolan supposed to only do three Bat-movies? I would hope they let him do whatever he wants and don't jerk him around like Favreau was with Marvel.

Speaking of Favreau, any idea on what they're going to do about Happy? It would be kinda awkward if they kept Favreau around for the character but not to direct.

If the Avengers movie is coming out before IM3, they make Happy a skrull.
Sometimes comics are made into things that move, or books with lots of words in them (but few if any pictures).
Sometimes books with lots of words are made into comics.
That's what's happening here. Matt Stover is working with some people in the comic industry to bring his Overworld books (Heroes Die, Blade of Tyshalle, Caine: Black Knife) to a more graphic medium. I'm assuming that some of you have read the series so I won't have to go into detail over why this is an awesome thing that really should have happened already.
Information on the project can be found on the kickstarter. It looks like it raised the requisite amount of $8500 in something like 3 days.
Anyway, didn't see it posted anywhere and thought others around here might be interested. But I didn't want to toss up a new thread until there was more then webpage and some concept art (or we had search back so I could be sure it wasn't already around).

He has said this would be his last Bat movie yes.
It's his choice on that, but who knows right?
Isn't he staying on as a producer and just not directing the next one or was I misinformed?
As for Bane being in the next Goyer flick - HELL YES. I watched the Dark Knight the other day and was trying to think of villains that wouldn't seem like a letdown after The Joker, and Bane was who I came up with.

This might be better suited for the comic news thread, but all I have to say is

The merc-y guys are the only ones who seem any good. HUSH would've been cool. I don't really care for the character, but if Nolans and Goyer had picked him, I know they would've been able to make him work really well. Also, I was kind of hoping for League of Shadows/Assassins or whatever and Talia, but I knew that was a very unlikely option.

It's apparently real. Also terrible.
Which is different than half of her costumes how?
i really hope not

I'd rather not pass judgment based on one photo, but I'm having trouble disputing your opinion.
It's the muddled concept, mixed with the awful photo.
I'm now hoping for the whole movie to be one long trippy 60s music video with fight scenes
You did it. You tapped into what I was feeling, but couldn't articulate. That's the perfect way to describe it.
Fox made MTV take it down and said so.
d'awwww M'gann. Brick shows up too, an underused villain who can work for this show.
Just popped in to post this. I wonder how Nolan will make Bane "realistic" like the other villains.
Isn't Venom one of the defining features of Bane's character though?
I'm not super into DC mythos, so I'm actually asking.

I guess the same could be said about Catwoman.
FTFY.
