Uh, they had a reason to axe Animated: A new movie was coming out and they needed to move to advertising the next line of toys. The Transformers TV show has always existed to sell toys.

With Costner playing Pa and other famous guy I don't remember playing Uncle Ben, is there any chance that these two characters actually stand a chance of sticking around in the movies?

Well, the first 2 scripts for Avengers before Whedon came aboard were supposedly based off The Ultimates, and the aliens in that were supposed to Ultimate Skrulls, so I can buy it. Kree might just make things too complicated, though.

Yeah loved the Ultimates, even though Thanos would be so much more badass.

it'd be cool of one of the sequels was all about thanos and the infinity gauntlet.

the sad thing is it'd most likely all take place on earth when an avengers space epic would be so much more awesome.

I feel like that's completely impractical to have as a costume (aside from the obvious reasons) because it would take forever to put on and it's not like that can be worn underneath other clothes, especially if she's playing part time lawyer.

    mea culpa

every source I saw said they wanted to keep doing animated, though, and there's been problems with Cartoon Network

which is part of why Prime is on the Hub, and Season 3 of Animated isn't out on DVD

All they had to do to temper part of the ridiculousness of that costume is make the pants tight jeans, but nope, let's just go full on awful.

No, Animated was axed because Animated was a joint effort between cartoon network and Hasbro, and then Hasbro went and bought a TV channel.

They should have used the conceptual Wonder Woman costume from the cancelled movie:

So . . . is the EW costume supposed to confound criminals into thinking someone hired a stripper to congradulate them on their capers?

Honestly that is quite possibly the worst costume concept I have ever seen for a television superhero series, I'd actually hate to see what ideas they didn't go with.

This dude did a color-corrected version of the costume, and it actually doesn't look bad.

The bustier still looks like it's way too tight and uncomfortable, and the smattering of stars and "WW"s are just as pointless, but it looks a lot less like a Halloween costume.
