I still can't believe I missed the god damned Gamesday and I live right next to that god forsaken city. God damnit.

This is going to be my first time to play a MMO from release. And I was worried about being able to have time to play this. I'm glad Eve-online has gone to fuck so that I don't have a game to compete time with.

In the northern Chaos wastes of Canada.

I predict there will be many Snorri and Gotrek clones in WAR. More Snorri, cause honestly. A bucket of Vodka and nails in the head. Doesn't get much better.

Yes. Check out Curtsy of Morskittar for his posting post awesomesauceness.

I recommend the Gotrek and Felix novels. Its a good read. The omnibus version (3 books put into 750 page novels) are a great buy. If you get caught in a story easy and desire to know what happens don't expect to be putting it down to often. I smashed through the first book in five days because I wanted to know how bad the skaven get beat over and over. Its not the skaven's fault though. Stormvermin are superb warriors. I blame the leadership. If only morskittar was at the helm they would control the world quick quick.

No. Mythic understands that classes who can stealth 100% from view are retarded, and have told people like you to DIAF.

But really, stealth is cheese. So Mythic pulled their collective heads out of their asses and said no to stealth and also no to Crowd Control. No more super AOE 30 second mezz shit.

I don't think they've ruled out things like turning partially transparent in dark areas or when in a bush, or even removing your nametag when crouching.

Just no "standing in the middle of the street and disappearing" bullshit.

Positional attacks are the WAR equivalent of Stealth, though it doesn't seem this is set in stone yet (its been mentioned that the KotBS might even use them) - more backstabby than sneaky.

positionals were fundamental in daoc RVR, but I don't see how it compares to the stealth game.

    DAOC had 2 games:

    1. Real RVR
    2. Stealth wars

I don't mind stealth wars, hell it wasn't bad for solo time when you couldn't get a group. But, nothing was more annoying than having stealthers add in on your good group vs group fights.

The whole concept of completely invisible chars (read: can't see them at all if you are a non stealth class) in a pvp game is stupid. Every noobcake who wants to gank lower lvl chars rolls one.

I'd agree, but I play a Necromancer. I have fucked up a great many of stealthers, except the ones with vanish... That's a real stupid fucking RA, imo. I've seen it with a FG standing around, a stealther attack and kill the caster in 1 hit and tick off vanish and not get uncovered. That's real fucking stupid. If it were up to me, Transparency would be a stat or bonus or something capped off at 95%. At night, you shouldn't be able to see a stealther, even if he is next to you, but dammit, I am sick of them just showing up in the middle of a field or bridge or something...

One thing I hated about WoW was you couldn't 'flank' the enemy or do -anything- stealthy because you had a big hur hur red sign above your head. Enemies don't need to know your god damn name until you've killed them.

That's one thing I loooove about DAoC. "Let's put the names of the mother fucker's on their tag if they are Realm Rank 10." It certainly makes enemies more pronounced and really makes you feel like that's not just your average fucking Hib, It's 'Simmy' from Palomides and he's going to fuck you up.

They could make it where if you're not actively fighting you're name is hidden until you get within a certain range of enemies, with the range varying between class.

One of my favorite things from WoW was standing underwater as an undead priest while my roommate took on 3-4 other players in battlegrounds. I was under water so they couldn't see my name/where I was.

170 or so total users on the site, though a good two dozen or more of those are for the Barrovian Society.

I'd say it's safe to say we're a bit over 100, with a fraction of that active on the boards.
