I adore how the towns look like actual TOWNS instead of just a couple buildings. They really learned from DAoC, I guess; there was one "town" that was literally just one single-room building, one tower, and a big mushroom. Come to think of it, most of the towns were like that.
Looking at their world map, it seems like their design goal was to have really good concentrated content instead of spreading it around so much that it would be impractical to make all of these huge, glorious cities. The dwarf city in particular seems like a good example, since they actually got lost trying to get to the forge or whatever. I look forward to being lost and having to ask a guard where something is located because I would honestly not be able to find it otherwise. That sense of scale and mystique is very appealing to me.
I get the impression that the size is both extremely vertical and extremely optional. Altdorf, for example, has huge buildings, but all of your standard stuff is located in the same place, that doesn't take too long to walk around. The rest of the city is built up, rather than across, so doesn't slow you down (but looks big) and is "optional" content. Christmas quests, content for other realms to fight, and other extra stuff.
@Saeris: the whole "real town" concept fits into the warhammer world too. Towns aren't just a buncha tents and some mushroom with some dude sitting on it. Towns and cities are dense population zones. Hell, any of the Druuchi towns number in the millions of residents.
Check your NDA, there's a very good chance that mentioning your participation in the beta breaks it :P
But congrats anyway. Apparently the first EU wave was sent, but only God knows what the hell GOA is doing.
Fuck you all, I've been waiting since before the Climax version was officially announced. 2002 or so. I had a promised beta slot then when GW was more involved and I knew people who knew people.

If it's any consolation my computer is fucked and I think I have to take the damn thing apart and put it back together again before I can do anything properly.

Nope. I can say:

I AM IN THE BETA.
That is all I can say.
Sneaky..
I don't have an email saying I'm in the beta.
Maybe it's still on its way. Maybe.
I WILL FIND OUT SOON.
Oh that's it I need to be away from my computer right now or my head will explode....
Carrying standards is for nubs, real men have them on their back.
USA! USA! USA!
End of May.
It would be nice to get an invite but I am not holding out hope for it
As it stands, I'm cutting myself right now.
break the NDA and tell me all about the game
My pm box is always open
I heard Europe invites went out already but not U.S. so I was holding onto that small thread of hope.

No more scones! Dammit.
And get off my lawn.
Now I'm all sad that my email box is empty and I've been on the list for fucking ever.
Curses.
Checking my email account I signed up with I had 207 junk mail and nothing in the way of an invite
I'd rather see a guild invite than an individual one.
